We've loved Amy Poehler since her days on Saturday Night Live and we can certainly understand why every guy on earth would fall head over heels for her. She's beautiful, talented, smart, and one of the funniest ladies around. Who wouldn't want to be in her company 24/7? Well, one actor didn't hold back his thoughts on Amy, who is set to host the Golden Globes tomorrow night with BFF Tina Fey -- and that mysterious, quirky, and yes, HOT, star is ... Joaquin Phoenix. The Inherent Vice star gushed about Amy on Jimmy Kimmel Live and we don't get the feeling he was joking.

Without any prompting from Jimmy, Joaquin awkwardly (did I say "awkwardly?" I meant, "adorably") revealed that he finds Amy totally attractive, despite not being able to pronounce her last name. You're forgiven, Joaquin.

He then said the 43-year-old Parks and Recreation star is on his mind because she will be hosting the Golden Globes and that he's actually nervous about seeing her at the show because he doesn't know what to say to her.

It should be noted that Amy already has a boyfriend -- Nick Kroll. No offense to Nick, who is awesome, but it's not like they're married, right? There's still hope that Amy and Joaquin could make this happen.

A soldier from Fort Bragg got the opposite reaction he thought he'd get from his wife after he sweetly tried to surprise her with breakfast. After Zia Segule, 28, reportedly told his wife, Tiffany Segule, that he was leaving for work, the 27-year-old wisely set their home alarm system and went back to bed. Little did she know he was about to do something super nice for her -- and she really can't be blamed for the tragedy that ensued while she was trying to be vigilant.

Without announcing to his wife that he was returning home, Zia reportedly opened their front door carrying breakfast treats for his beloved. But Tiffany only heard the home alarm go off and quickly grabbed the couple's gun to protect herself.

She shot her husband in the chestthrough their closed bedroom door, according to police. It isn't clear whether Zia tried to turn off the alarm or if he called out to Tiffany when he entered the house.

Zia was hospitalized at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and has since been released. He was reportedly able to walk and talk after being shot and would only tell reporters, "I'm good," when asked about the situation.

Police are still investigating the incident and have questioned Tiffany. It is believed she might have been nervous because of recent break-ins in their neighborhood -- which have included four home break-ins and four vehicle break-ins in the past year.

There's only one Calvin Klein underwear model and Justin Bieber ain't it -- so says model Rhea Durham -- a.k.a. wife of Mark Wahlberg, the "original" CK hunk-in-boxer-briefs. While the nation debates whether Justin's body was photoshopped to enhance both his abs and his manhood, and while the pop singer's legal team threatens to sue breatheheavy.com for posting a GIF showing Justin transforming from normal to jacked up dreamboat, Rhea has already weighed in with her thoughts, and let's just say, she's on Team Mark.

Rhea has always had super-nice things to say about her husband, with whom she shares four children. But the 36-year-old took things one step further when she slammed Calvin Klein's latest poster boy with a series of tweets, including this one, which angered quite a few beliebers:

But it's a brave new world and Justin B. is this decade's Mark Wahlberg. I thought he did a fine job posing for the pics and Rhea should probably just chill with her comments. We know Mark is the original. We know he's the only person on the planet who can upstage Kate Moss, but that was then and, sigh, this is now -- photoshop and all. 

Just for old time's sake, this Calvin Klein commercial is exactly the reason why Rhea feels so strongly about her husband. Can't say we blame her:

Um, Surprise?! Every now and then, we hear about a woman who is so damn lucky she never experiences morning sickness or back pains or any of the other lovely side effects associated with pregnancy. She can carry her baby for 9 months and never actually know that she's even having a baby. Katie Kropas, who is from Weymouth, Massachusetts, is perhaps the most extreme example of this. She woke up having back pain, discovered she was pregnant, and gave birth one hour later. And you'll never believe how much her healthy baby girl weighed.

Kropas says she rushed to South Shore Hospital as soon as she began feeling bad back pains. We have to assume she was actually going into labor at the time, which would explain the extreme discomfort she was feeling.

Imagine her shock when a doctor examined her and told her she was going to be a mommy -- that day. Kropas says she found out the news at 10:15 a.m. and gave birth at 11:06 a.m.

After nearly 10 months of living life unaware that she was even pregnant, this mom didn't even have to endure hours of labor. I swear, some women have all the luck.

But before we become too green with envy, there's this: baby Ellie was born weighing 10 pounds, 2 ounces. That's right, Kropas was carrying a 10-pound baby in her tummy and says she just assumed she put on a little weight because of the Christmas season.

Doctors at the hospital where Kropas gave birth say hers is called a "cryptic" pregnancy and that they actually see a few cases just like it every year. Women who are able to carry their babies full term without knowing they are pregnant are usually oveweight or have irregular periods, and may not feel the baby move because of where the placenta is positioned, according to docs.

Kropas admitted it was going to be a little difficult at first because she wasn't at all prepared to have a baby. As great as I think it is to sail through pregnancy without a symptom, I don't think I'd want to be caught off guard like that. Aside from having to purchase items you need to welcome a baby, I've always felt like it took 9 or so months to prepare yourself, mentally, for a new member of the family.

Wishing this mom a great deal of joy and luck as she gets settled in with little Ellie.

Actor Jeff Goldblum and his actress/gymnast wife Emilie Livingston recently announced that they are expecting their first child together. The 62-year-old Jurassic Park star didn't waste any time while appearing on The Late Show With David Letterman and pretty much immediately let the cat out of the bag by announcing that his 31-year-old wife is three months pregnant and that her news couldn't have come at a better time.

Emilie and Jeff got married in November at Los Angeles' swanky Chateau Marmont. Just one day before they were set to exchange vows, Emilie told Jeff the good news -- and they apparently already know that she is having a boy.

They even have a baby name already picked out: Elliot Charlie. Three cheers for a celebrity who isn't keeping his baby's name a big secret -- I never understood why it's Top Secret information.

I don't know much about this couple, other than the fact that they dated for more than three years before getting married and everyone made a huge deal out of their age difference. It's bad enough that Connecticut English teacher Danielle Watkins was accused of having sex with a teenage student at her school -- you'd think she would leave well enough alone and deal with the problems she already has. But the 32-year-old Stamford High School teacher, who is also reportedly a mother, was arrested again for taking things to the next level and reportedly threatening to kill her students for ruining her life.

Watkins was reportedly arrested in July after it was discovered that she had been having a nine-month affair with a student who was 17 at the time the sexual relationship began. The teen victim claims he had sex with Watkins too many times in his car to even be able to keep track of the number and that she provided him with marijuana.

She was charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor, and marijuana possession. Considering what she had done, some might say she got off easy when, in December, she reportedly accepted a plea bargain that would give her between nine months and four years in jail if she pled guilty to a single count of felony second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a child. The maximum penalty for those charges is a whopping 20 years -- so, like I said, not a bad deal.

But it's anyone's guess what will happen after Watkins reportedly fudged up her own life even more with her next allegedly violent move.

While one of her former students, who was reportedly friends with the teen victim, was waiting on line at a Dunkin' Donuts for his food, Watkins reportedly stormed into the shop and threatened the child, according to police. The teen was so freaked out that he reportedly left the shop and told his mother what had happened. Footage from a surveillance camera was reportedly able to prove the teen's claim.

The victim's attorney claims Watkins called the victim when he was at the police station and threatened him again.

Police say the woman told the teen, "You and your buddy have taken everything from me. My kids, my family, my job, and my career. Mark my words, I will not rest until you two are dead." 

Police arrested Watkins and charged her with threatening and violating the terms of her release. She is being held at Stamford police department on a $25,000 cash court appearance bond.

Not surprisingly, her victim's attorneys say they will now be pushing for the maximum prison sentence.

Justin Bieber isn't the only one receiving a great deal of grief over a rather sexy, yet harmless series of Calvin Klein ads. Lara Stone, the 31-year-old model who can be seen mounting the pop star and feeling up his (questionable) abs has reportedly been receiving death threats by crazed Bieber fans over Twitter. Yes, she's married. Yes, she's 11 years his senior, but it doesn't help that Justin apparently asked Lara out on a date while they were shooting the denim campaign. Awkward!

Despite being happily married to David Walliams, Lara is apparently dealing with the wrath of about 50 Beliebers who don't understand that their number one man probably sees naked boobs on a daily basis just by walking out on the street and being Justin Bieber. They have mistaken Lara's desire to make thousands of dollars in one hour for her alleged desire to sweep their icon off his feet. So, the poor woman is reportedly receiving tweets like these:

"I'll kill that girl." [gun emoji, gun emoji, gun emoji, knife emoji] 

"hi bitch i hate u. touch justins d*** again and ill kill u im not joking."

"back off or i'll kill you, please and thanks. no pressure :)”

We're sure their anger soared to new levels when they learned that Justin has eyes and, indeed, found Lara attractive. Sources say he tried his luck with her while they were shooting the photos, but that he wasn't trying to be a homewrecker -- he had no idea that she is married to David.

In case you're wondering how Lara's husband feels about all of this sudden attention, he did the only thing a man could: he showed he has a sense of humor about this and that their marriage can withstand a fierce set of abs. David photoshopped one of Justin and Lara's famous photos, placed his own head on it, and tweeted it with the caption, "Why has someone photoshopped @justinbieber's head onto what is clearly my body?"

And that is exactly why Lara won't be leaving her hilarious, talented husband any time soon. Beliebers have nothing to worry about  -- Justin will continue to ogle the naked bodies of other supermodels who aren't Lara Stone. Feel better, guys?!

Are Justin Bieber's fans taking things too far?

It should be against the law for ex-boyfriends to live within a mile of you once you've cut ties. Kim Kardashian has it 100 times worse than most women because the man who essentially made her famous with an infamous sex tape -- that would be singer/producer Ray J -- is apparently moving just a few doors down from her.

Ray J has reportedly offered a cool $2.7 million to buy a house located just eight homes away from Kim, Kanye, and little North West. The mansion is a doozy, we hear, and features three horse stalls -- which shouldn't shock anyone since Kardashian's street is probably as large and spaced out as some neighborhoods.

Assuming his offer is accepted, this could have the potential to be pretty awkward. Kim and her ex didn't exactly leave off on friendly terms. We understand that they made a sex tape together that has been viewed by billions of people around the world, but that is no excuse for Ray J to continue talking about it and about Kim, whom he reportedly called a "straight freak who was down to do whatever..."

We know Kim is trying to move on with her life and divorce herself from some of the mistakes she made in the past, but Ray J has used Twitter to continue poking fun at her when it really isn't warranted and just makes him look silly, immature, and as if he needs her to keep relevant.

As for his potential move, I'm betting each home on Kim's street is the width of three football fields and that, even if Ray J winds up moving eight homes away, they will never run into each other.

Blake Lively's real life seems like it could actually be a scene straight out of her most awesomely fun film, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. The 27-year-old former Gossip Girl star gave birth to her first child with husband Ryan Reynolds about a week ago. The couple had a little girl, whose name may or may not be Violet, and the news wasn't exactly buried on page 20 of your city newspaper. It was everywhere. But at least one person on earth doesn't keep up with celeb gossip: fellow celeb and Sisterhood costar Amber Tamblyn. The actress found out in the most amazing way possible that her friend had given birth -- Blake totally tricked Amberinto meeting her little girl.

Amber reportedly joked that her "b***h" friend Blake tricked her one night when Amber was out supporting fellow Sisterhood costar America Ferrera at her husband's "Monsters and Landscapes" art exhibit in New York City. While there, Amber said she started receiving texts from Blake about some new wallpaper that Amber just had to see.

Amber made a pit stop at Blake's apartment, expecting to see a few cool walls, and instead met her little girl.

Apparently, all of Blake's friends were in on the joke and Amber was the only one who was unaware of the fact that Blake had already given birth. Kudos to Blake for being able to keep mum about it for the sake of having a few laughs!

Amber took the joke well and says she is just thrilled to be an "auntie" and that all of Blake's baby's "godmothers" -- we'll assume she also means Alexis Bledel and America -- are just as happy.

A young couple from Indiana face heavy duty child neglect charges after it was discovered they allegedly let a 1-year-old child put a gun in her mouth and instructed her to make "pow" sounds as if the weapon was going off. You have to assume Michael Barnes, 19, and Toni Wilson, 22, who is the toddler's mother, didn't think there was anything wrong with their heinous actions -- because Evansville police say they caught the entire thing on video using Barnes' cellphone.

Thank goodness Barnes was arrested when he was for other charges. The teen reportedly tried to sell a handgun to an undercover officer after meeting the potential buyer through social media. While investigating the suspect, cops searched his cellphone records. They then made the insane discovery that he and a woman identified as Wilson had zero problem putting her baby's life at risk for what I'm assuming were a few sick laughs.

The video reportedly shows the child playing with a gun and then Barnes encouraging her to say "pow" several times after she placed the weapon in her mouth. Police say neither Barnes nor Wilson tried to stop the child from inserting the gun in her mouth.

In case you're thinking what I'm thinking: no, it hasn't been determined whether the baby's mother or her buddy were high on drugs at the time.

At first, Wilson reportedly told cops the weapon was a pellet gun, but authorities say Barnes later confessed that it was a .40 caliber handgun. Seriously -- can this get any crazier?!

For several years now, breastfeeding advocates have supported the continued effort to encourage people to accept breastfeeding for what it is: a beautiful, natural way to nourish our babies. We've gotten used to seeing celebrities and everyday women post photos of themselves feeding their babies -- and sometimes toddlers and older children -- from their breasts. But the latest photograph released by NOH8 is different. It's powerful and revolutionary because it features the first lesbian mother nursing her child and posing beside her same-sex partner.

Mahaliyah Grace, 31, of Phoenix, and Cindy Manit, 31, who is from San Francisco, reportedly posed for this portrait with their 18-month-old daughter as part of NOH8's latest campaign.

If you aren't familiar with the charitable organization, its aim is to promote marriage, gender, and human equality. Celebrity photographer Adam Bouska and his partner Jeff Parshley started what they call a "photographic silent protest" after the 2008 passage of Proposition 8 in California, which banned same-sex marriage.

Obviously, the image of a lesbian breastfeeding with her partner is bold, but the addition of duct tape placed over the models' mouths -- which is a Bouska/Parshley trademark -- speaks volumes about how these women, and so many others, feel about having their voices stolen from them.

A mother from Montana recently defied one in a million odds: she gave birth to healthy identical triplet boys -- without the help of a single fertility treatment! Jody and Jase Kinsey of Miles City welcomed sons Cade, Ian, and Milo on December 5, and doctors say their birth was smoother than expected and incredibly rare.

Jody, 30, says she was shocked when she found out months ago that she would be giving birth to triplets. Her 29-year-old husband was less surprised because his father is a twin. Still. I realize the difference between twins and triplets is one teeny baby, but oh my goodness, that one additional child is life changing.

And, by the way, triplets actually make four for the Kinsey family -- they already have a 6-year-old son named Jax.

Considering how the babies shared one placenta, doctors warned them that there could be complications. Jody delivered her babies at 32 weeks, but aside from the premature birth -- which is common in multiple births -- her sons are doing great. Doctors say that one in every million women conceive identical triplets without fertility drugs, so this is pretty darn amazing.

Cade was born first, weighing 3 pounds, 13 ounces; Ian was born next at 3 pounds, 11 ounces; and Milo was the last -- and biggest -- of his brothers to be born at 4 pounds, 1 ounce.

The babies all spent time in the NICU and Cade was recently released. Ian and Milo are expected to be released as soon as they can eat without a feeding tube, and the family says it will reunite with Jax at their home next week.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I've always daydreamed about having twins or triplets. I know it would the most hellish few months and years of life, but how fantastic would it be to kill two or three birds with one stone and create your family at once? Not to mention: the bond between twins and among triplets has to be unreal. Even if it was pure chance, you have given your child an instant, lifelong gift when you give birth to multiples.

Wishing this family the best of luck -- their babies are just gorgeous.

At first, Ken Wills seemed like a guardian angel to the Knickerbocker family, whose 5-month-old son Noah had been waiting since the day he was born for a heart transplant. Willis, who is the baby's father's godfather, reportedly offered to help the Wisconsin family by setting up a crowdfunding page on GoFundMe in order to raise money for Noah's transplant and for the family's related expenses. Imagine their shock when, after raising about $6,500 for Noah, mom Rachel Knickerbocker went to the page to discover it had disappeared.

Rachel says she and her husband were planning to use the money raised to rent an apartment near the Wisconsin's Children Hospital, where Noah is receiving treatment. They family has already been through so much, considering how they've moved from Milwaukee so that Noah can be hospitalized, and it's disgusting to think of anyone taking advantage of their pain.

But Rachel says that is exactly what Wills did -- and that he tried to cover his dishonest actions by posting photos on Facebook of three donation checks he supposedly made out to the Ronald McDonald House, the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, and Boston Children's Hospital -- where Noah was initially treated.

ABC News investigated and has reported that Wills only allegedly donated a portion of each check to those organizations and that the rest of the money mysteriously vanished.

Rachel says she begged Wills for the rest of the money, but that he didn't respond. You could say she should have been on her toes from the very beginning because the man reportedly never even met Noah, yet went out of his way to raise money for him -- but who wants to go through life believing people aren't capable of selfless acts, especially when it comes to helping children?

The Knickerbockers' reportedly filed a complaint with the Colorado Attorney General's Office, but given how long it generally takes to resolve issues like this in court, this isn't likely to help them right now, when they need it most.

There is some very good news here, though. Noah underwent heart transplant surgery this week and is in recovery. His family set up a new GoFundMe page and have raised almost $9,000.

Wishing this sweet little baby a speedy recovery.

One of the realities of being sent to prison is that you are stripped of most of your rights. We're sure Teresa Giudice is well aware of this and, now that she has been locked away for a week, has possibly even accepted it. But that doesn't mean the Real Housewives of New Jersey star should be denied the ability to parent her four young girls as best as she can. Teresa recently made it crystal clear to brother Joe Gorga and his wife, Melissa, that they are absolutely not allowed to post photos or updates about her children on social media while she's in prison. And some are saying Teresa's latest demand proves she is out of control.

Anyone who is familiar with Teresa's life knows she and Melissa are like vinegar and oil, so it's safe to assume she simply doesn't want them in contact with her children unless she's around to monitor what is going on. That alone would be fair.

Rumor has it that Teresa called to speak with Joe, proceeded to blame him for her prison sentence, and then left off warning him and Melissa not to post photos, videos, or other media on any social media sites that show the couple with Gia, 13, Gabriella, 10, Milania, 8, and Audriana, 4.

One "source" says Teresa doesn't want anyone to think Joe and Melissa are doing the right thing and sticking by their family while she is in prison, so she is imposing this ban on sharing the details of any contact they have with her daughters via social media.

That's one way of looking at it, I guess. And, given Teresa's dramatic disposition, it's easy to believe. But I'm going to go out on a limb and call that a hogwash theory.

Teresa already has so little control over what goes on with her kids while she's in prison. She is likely feeling completely powerless and protective of her little ones, particularly given how much is being written about her while she is serving her prison sentence. She can't do much about the tabloid coverage, but she can ask her brother and his wife not to provide additional publicity that her girls certainly don't need at this time.

And she has every right to make this request.

Even if they're not the best of friends, Joe and Melissa should respectfully agree not to post about her children at a time when she already feels like she can't properly look after them.

Elizabeth Barrios of Ogden, Utah, left her 3-year-old son strapped into his car seat, with the car running, for all of a minute while she reportedly ran outside to drop another child off at day care. But we're sure she deeply regrets those few minutes because what happened next is every mother's nightmare. Right before her eyes, a man jumped into her vehicle and began driving it away, with little Aiden still trapped inside of it. Barrios called police, who responded quickly. After learning the mother had left her cell phone inside of the car, they came up with a plan that few people would believe could work.

Police told Barrios to call her own cell phone. She did. Everybody was shocked when the little boy actually answered the phone and began giving his mom details about what the man was doing inside of his mother's car.

Barrios says Aiden told her the man was going through her purse and "getting" her purse. That phone call proved to be more important than everyone thought because it scared the alleged thief enough to force him out of the vehicle. Aiden confirmed with his mom that the man had left the car, which we're sure made her exhale the biggest sigh of relief imaginable.

Obviously, even the most intelligent 3-year-old on the planet would have a difficult time describing his whereabouts, so in order to find Aiden, police told him to honk the car horn. But remember: the child was in a car seat -- which proved no problem for him because he simply undid the straps and followed orders. Police were able to locate him a few minutes later and he has been reunited with his mom.

Many moms can understand the temptation to leave our kids alone in a car for just a minute because the process of removing them from car seats and placing them in strollers while we run an errand that we know will take a second seems like a huge hassle.

But then we hear stories like this one -- and we are reminded of what can happen. It's just not worth the risk.

A mom who sold prepackaged and dry foods at a local farmers market in Canada was forced to shut down her business when she failed to pass a food safety inspection -- because she breastfed her 7-month-old son while sitting at her booth. The inspector informed Tanessa Holt of Nova Scotia that she was welcome to nurse her baby while she worked, as long as she didn't get anywhere near her own food or customers and agreed to hire someone else to handle the food.

Holt says she sold containers of soup mix, homemade protein bars and prepackaged oatmeal and granola -- not exactly food items that you associate with contamination in the first place. A lot of moms can relate to the problem she faces leaving her son with a babysitter because she says he doesn't like taking bottles and still relies on her breast milk.

She probably figured she had an ideal job at the market because she could go about making transactions with customers and selling her food, while taking short breaks when necessary to feed her son.

But no. After a food safety inspector visited her booth, she was told that, even if she breastfed her son once in the morning and was anywhere near the food, she was not allowed to handle the food for the remainder of the day. Which is just insane. Since hers is a new business, she says she can't afford to hire a second hand and had to give up her booth.

In an email, the inspector reportedly wrote, "The food safety concern is contamination of food through possible throw up and/or feces coming from the baby. This would include you burping the baby after nursing or you having to change the infant's diaper between serving customers."

Holt fired back, saying she absolutely takes the proper precautions when nursing her son, washes her hands regularly, and wears gloves to handle food items that aren't prepackaged. She says she watches others sell food that isn't covered or handle money and then food without washing or wearing gloves and that it's appalling to think she is being singled out for feeding her child.

Okay, she didn't use the word "appalling," I did.

What makes this even more mysterious is that Nova Scotia Food Safety regulations don't mention breastfeeding. A spokeswoman for the Department of Agriculture has reportedly apologized to Holt and says she is in contact with the inspector to find out exactly what went on and whether this was simply a misunderstanding.

A jealous Kentucky husband allegedly decided to send a powerful message to his wife by tattooing a horrifically degrading word on her back, according to police. Michael Joseph, 30, was driving home with his wife from Lexington when he reportedly began arguing with her after he suspected she was texting her ex-boyfriend in the car. When they returned to their home, police say Joseph retrieved his gun and told his wife he was going to give her a tattoo. She resisted and he allegedly placed the gun to her head and forcibly engraved the word "slut" onto her back.

Joseph's wife reportedly told police he had assaulted her with a gun all the way from Lexington -- charges the man has denied because, he claims, she doesn't have cuts or bruises to prove it. He also denies giving his wife the tattoo and suggests it would be pretty easy for the woman to get revenge on him by asking someone else to tattoo "slut" on her back.

It shouldn't shock anyone to learn that the victim's family has reportedly lived in fear of Joseph for years AND that this isn't the first time he has been in trouble with the law. This particular incident allegedly took place in May 2014. In that same year, Joseph was charged with terrorist threatening for telling his wife he would kill her if she ever left him.

And Joseph was reportedly arrested in 2013 and convicted of stabbing a man in a Walmart parking lot.

Joseph faces charges of unlawful imprisonment, assault, and wanton endangerment for this latest incident. He is being held on $15,000 cash bail.

A woman from Schiller Park, Illinois, has been arrested for allegedly committing the one crime most of us can never wrap our minds around. Krystle El Khatib, 29, reportedly tried to kill her two children by crushing up the anti-anxiety drug benzodiazepine and placing the powder into their apple juice. She then instructed her 9-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter to drink two glasses each of the juice. Her older child tried to stand up for himself and refused, but El Khatib reportedly made sure he drank the poison by threatening to kill him.

El Khatib had apparently intended for this to be a family suicide because police say she ingested benzodiazepine and the painkiller Norco shortly after making her children drink the juice. But the drugs didn't have the effect she thought they would and she simply passed out.

According to the children's father -- who reportedly took them to the hospital after his son woke up the next morning, vomited several times, and then texted him because he couldn't wake up his mom -- the two had been having issues. Police say she actually sent him a text a few days prior to the tragedy that read, "At least if I go to hell, I've already been there. The kids go to heaven. Peace from all."

The children's father also told police the woman had been angry with him for not wanting to spend more time with her and for not being around for the kids.

Marriage records show that El Khatib was married to her husband at age 17, but that they divorced after less than one year.

When police interviewed El Khatib, she reportedly told them she gave her children the drug because she "wanted all three of them to go to sleep and not wake up."

The only good news to come out of this is that, thank god, both children have recovered and are in their dad's custody. It goes without saying, though, that they will have a lot to wrap their minds around as they try to understand why their mother would do this to them.

Looks like a Mariah Carey/Nick Cannon reconciliation is not happening because Nick recently -- and discreetly -- filed for divorce from his wife of six years. We all knew it was coming. We saw the signs back in August when Mariah and Nick began appearing in public without their wedding rings, but there's always some hope before those divorce papers are signed. Sadly, Nick reportedly filed for divorce on Dec. 12 and Mariah may have been too busy trying to sort out all of the details when her estranged husband beat her to court.

There are plenty of rumors out there as to why Nick and Mariah may have split, one of which is that Nick reportedly fears the 3-year-old twins he shares with his wife are living in a toxic environment and that he needs to provide them with a safer home.

Others have suggested Nick stirred up trouble by revealing on a radio talk show that he had slept with a bunch of famous women like "Mariah Carey, Christina Milian, Nicole Scherzinger, Selina Ebanks, and Kim Kardashian." Hey, at least he gave his wife props first, right?

Obviously, things had long turned sour before Nick decided to go blabbing about his sex life just so he could get a few handshakes out of it, but that's probably not the classiest way to behave when you are days away from dissolving your marriage.

A more likely reason for their divorce may just be that things fizzled and that it didn't help matters when Mariah's most recent album failed to sell, which probably put quite a bit of strain on their relationship. We hear Mariah has been keeping busy while her attorneys work out the details of the split by following Britney's lead (if you can believe it) and scoring an artist-in-residence deal in Las Vegas, where she'll perform all of her greatest hit singles at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

The two people who are most important here are the couple's twins, Moroccan and Monroe, who are reportedly staying with their mom in their Manhattan apartment. Sources say Nick and Mariah have been trying to remain friendly for the sake of their children -- let's hope they can keep that up as their divorce starts to feel even more real for them.

It's sad that Nick and Mariah couldn't work things out, but I look at this as just another obstacle standing in the way of Mariah making a huge comeback. With her natural talent, it seems like the only fair outcome.
