Woman Arrested for Glitter-Bombing Her Ex-Boss' Office

Post by Lisa Fogarty.

Hey, you know that funny story going around this week about how you can mail glitter to your enemy's hometo really piss him off? Yeah, let's talk about that for a moment: it's a bad, bad, supremely bad idea. But don't take my word for it -- a woman in Ohio was recently arrested for using glitter as a weapon against her former boss. Samantha Lockhart, 24, has been charged with fifth-degree felony vandalism, breaking and entering, and misdemeanor criminal damaging after she allegedly decided to get revenge on her fomer employer by trashing his office with glitter and silly string.

Lockhart was reportedly employed for about two years as a clerk for the Summit County Fiscal Office of Kristen M. Scalise. After giving in her letter of resignation and stating she would work until Jan. 22, she reportedly called in on an earlier date to say she would not be returning.

Clearly, she was eager to get a move on from her job -- whatever her reasons.

It's safe to assume after hearing what she did next that her reasons may have something to do with her negative feelings toward her boss. Police say Lockhart and a man walked into her old building the night she called off work and that they were carrying toilet paper and a bag. She allegedly used her swipe card to gain access to the office, and from there, broke into her 48-year-old former boss' office, where she proceeded to throw glitter and an unknown white powder around the room.

Baby powder, let's hope.

In addition to throwing known and unknown substances around, she also reportedly smashed her boss' personal photos, vandalized two desktop computers, a scanner, a printer, the carpet, AND the sweaters her boss had left at her desk.

More from The Stir: Glitter & Other 'Mom' Secret Weapons to Send to Your Enemies

No one has commented on why Lockhart left her job in the first place or why the hell she was so angry at her boss. It's safe to say though that her boss is not going to have a difficult time replacing her.

Have you ever been incredibly angry with or bitter toward your boss?

Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Martin Have Been Lying This Entire Time

Post by Lisa Fogarty.

We've been betrayed, guys! For months, we've believed the rumor that Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Martin had broken up. We contemplated the reasons for their sudden split after just a few brief, but seemingly joyful months of dating. We decided their schedules were just too hectic to make it work. That their age difference -- she's 24 and he's 37 -- made it impossible for them to see eye to eye. Geez, we even pointed fingers at Chris and Gwyneth's two children and decided Jen naturally came to the conclusion that she was in no position to be a step mommy at such a young age. But we've all been fooled. It seems JLaw and Chris have been together this entire time.

Sources say Jen and Chris want to keep their relationship discreet so they either created the rumor that they had broken up months ago or simply heard it and thought, nice! Let's not deny that juicy tidbit anytime soon.

So, here we were assuming the couple were over and out and that Chris and Gwyn were, possibly, going to reunite, and there JLaw and Chris were secretly hanging out and getting to know one another without all of our annoying eyes on them.

Apparently, Chris and Jen have even found a way for him to visit her Los Angeles home when he's in town without anyone finding out. Considering how swift the paparazzi are -- they're basically ninjas with cameras -- this is quite a feat on their part. I imagine both have a pretty solid support system built around them and that their people are damn good at keeping secrets (well, with the exception being the "source" who leaked this news).

More from The Stir: Jennifer Lawrence & Chris Martin (Maybe) Spent New Year's Eve Together (PHOTO)

In case you're wondering, even though Chris and Jen are supposedly still a hot item, he has no intention of introducing her to Gwyneth right now. Guess he's just not ready yet -- and he is under no obligation to do so until he and Jen feel comfy about it.

That little fact hasn't kept Gwyn from sharing her feelings about her ex's girlfriend on the Howard Stern Show -- she recently told him that she respects Chris and that he "wouldn't be with someone who isn't great."

And, with that, the Martin/Paltrow/Lawrence clan continue to spread their message of love. Shame on us for thinking any differently!

Did you think Chris and Jen split up or did you expect they were together all along?

Bill Cosby Speaks Out About Latest Sexual Assault Claim By Playboy Model

Post by Lisa Fogarty.

There's just no end to the misery Bill Cosby has either caused others or is dealing with -- or both. The latest woman to come forward and accuse the comedian of sexual assault is Chloe Goins, a young model who is reportedly pursuing criminal charges against Cosby after she says he sexually abused her at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles in 2008. Cosby and his people have spoken in the past and denied all allegations (more than 15 women have come forward) against him -- and it should be noted that he hasn't been tried in a court. But this time, his attorney didn't waste a single second, perhaps because he knows this could seriously hurt Cosby, considering how the statute of limitations is not up on Goins' case. His response to the model's accusations could stop this case before it has a chance to go forward.

Cosby's attorney claims he was NOT at the Playboy Mansion on the night that Goins says he allegedly drugged her at an event and that she woke up and found him standing naked over her. Instead, the actor was reportedly in New York at the time, attorney Martin Singer wrote in a statement.

Singer says he can prove Cosby was in NYC and would present relevant evidence to detectives.

The model says the abuse took place on Aug. 9, 2008 at an event called "Midsummer Night's Dream Party." She does not go into detail about what, exactly, she believes happened to her while she was allegedly blacked out.

More from The Stir: Bill Cosby's Response to Those Sexual Assault Allegations Is Unsettling

Until now, prosecutors have had a difficult time justifying bringing charges against Cosby because most of the women who have come forward claim they were abused in the '70s and '80s. But Goins is reportedly at least the second woman to meet with L.A. detectives to give their stories in recent weeks.

As of right now, this could go either way. It will be interesting to see what evidence Cosby's lawyers produce to prove he wasn't in Los Angeles at the time of the alleged sexual assault.

What do you think of this latest allegation against Bill Cosby?

Parents Arrested for Trying to Sell 6-Year-Old Daughter to Stranger for Sex

Post by Lisa Fogarty.

A mother and father from Houston have been arrested and charged with the most heinous of crimes: endangering a child's life after they reportedly offered to sell their 6-year-old daughterto a stranger for sex. Juan Martinez, 44, and Andra Rae Martinez, 43, led an unusual lifestyle, according to police -- one that included reportedly swapping wives with strangers and taking drugs like meth and pot. Obviously, there's no way parents behaving badly are going to be able to lead their lives and not have them affect the children in their care. But these parents took things one horrific step further by involving their innocent daughter in their alleged world of sick.

Police were allowed to search the couple's home after receiving a tip that they had tried to sell their little girl to a grown man. They reportedly found meth, marijuana, and pornography -- and all of those things were right there out in the open where either their daughter or 10-year-old son could find them, according to police.

Their son also reportedly told police he was concerned because his father smoked "things that weren't legal." And Martinez's police statement is, perhaps, the most shocking thing of all: they say he admitted he advertised for "swinging" partners to have sex with his wife, that the men visited his home when his children were there, AND that he has had fantasies about incest, but claims he never hurt his kids.

I'm praying that last bit is true and that these two were locked up before they could actually physically harm either of their children. Martinez is reportedly being held in lieu of $30,000 bail, while his wife's bond is set at $2,000.

What are your thoughts on the details of this alleged crime? What is an appropriate consequence if they are found guilty?

Julianne Hough and Vanessa Hudgens Cast in 'Grease' Live TV Movie

Post by Lisa Fogarty.

When we found out FOX was planning to bring back Sandy, Rizzo, and Danny Zuko (and Frenchie -- we mustn't forget Frenchie!) for a one-night production called Grease: Live, we thought: this could either be really great or a big, fat disappointment. And the only thing that would make or break the show was the casting. The original film is so iconic that it's difficult to imagine anyone who isn't John Travolta shimmying his way under a car before the big road race -- yes, I discovered the movie during puberty, in case this isn't clear. Well, we've just received news of two major roles being cast -- by no other than Julianne Hough and Vanessa Hudgens.

You can probably guess who Julianne is playing: sweet, innocent Sandy. I can totally see her sliding into the role that made Olivia Newton-John incredibly popular in the '70s. Julianne, 26, says Grease was a film she watched over and over again as a child and that it was the one movie that made her want to become a performer. She even went as far as to say she's been waiting her entire life to play Sandy.

Wow, good for you, girl! It think she'll do a fantastic job.

Now, Vanessa. You're probably thinking, oh, she must be playing Marty, right? She's certainly got that whole young, yet sophisticated essence about her -- the kind of girl who would date Vince Fontaine. But, NO, Vanessa is going to be Rizzo! I'm going to keep an open mind about this because, after all, an actor's job is to challenge herself with diverse roles and just because we're used to seeing Vanessa play good girls doesn't mean she isn't capable of taking on the ultimate Pink Lady.

Vanessa's heart is certainly in the right place. The High School Musical star, 26, says she never imagined being Rizzo and that it will be a new challege for her, but that she can't wait to bring the strong character to life on live TV.

More from The Stir: 'Grease' on Live TV Could Be Perfect ... or a Perfect Nightmare (VIDEO)

The special is set to air live on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016 from 7-10 p.m. EST.

It's just a matter of time before a casting decision is announced for the Big Two male roles: Danny and Kenickie. Everybody else is feeling Zac Efron as Kenickie, right? Got to admit: I still can't come up with a good Danny.

What do you think about Julianne playing Sandy and Vanessa playing Rizzo? Who else do you think will be cast in Grease: Live?

'Bonnie and Clyde' Teen Criminals Caught After Two-Week Crime Spree

Post by Lisa Fogarty.

A teen couple from Kentucky were arrested after two weeks in which they caused so much mayhem across various states that police dubbed them the teen "Bonnie and Clyde." Dalton Hayes, 18, and Cheyenne Phillips -- who is just 13 -- were found sleeping in a stolen Toyota Tundra in Panama City Beach, Fla., and taken into custody. The two were allegedly involved in the thefts of three vehicles and several firearms and authorities from Kentucky to Florida searched high and low for them.

Police say the couple became "increasingly brazen and dangerous" as they traveled from state to state. Cheyenne was reported missing by her family on January 3 from Clarkson, Kentucky, and Hayes' family says they received a text message from him on January 6.

Since that time, the duo reportedly stole a truck out of a garage in Clarkson and went speeding down a street before crashing it into a fence and running away from the vehicle. Their recklessness reportedly caused about $7,100 worth of damage to the truck.

Just one hour later, police say they stole a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck that had a firearm inside of it. No one is sure yet why they abandoned it -- perhaps they used it just to get to Georgia, where it was found in Henry County.

Dalton and Cheyenne then upped the ante by allegedly stealing a Toyota Tundra pickup with a Georgia firefighter license plate in Manning, South Carolina. The truck reportedly had a .38 -caliber and .45-caliber inside of it. Around the same time, the couple was spotted on a Walmart surveillance camera and Cheyenne can be seen smiling in the footage. Police believe they may have tried to pass two stolen checks at the store.

Dalton's mother reportedly begged her son to turn himself in and "face the consequences" of his actions. She says her son has been dating his female partner-in-crime for three months and that she pretended she was 19. She says that, by the time her son realized her true age, it was too late: he had already fallen in love with her.

Right.

This isn't Dalton's first brush with the law, according to his family. He may have been running away from a slew of charges back home, including burglary and theft, after he was arrested last year. He was slated to appear in court on Jan. 5 to find out whether a grand jury had indicted him on the charges, but he and Cheyenne had already taken off by that point.

Thank goodness these children were caught before they could either hurt someone or get hurt.

What consequences do you think these teens should receive for their alleged actions?

Britney Spears' Ex-Boyfriend Reportedly Killed By Taliban in Afghanistan

Post by Lisa Fogarty.

Britney Spears is reportedly devastated after learning her ex-boyfriend -- who also helped her quit drinking alcohol when she was going through a particularly rough time -- was shot dead by the Taliban while flying his helicopter in Afghanistan. John Sundahl, 44, reportedly met the 33-year-old singer in Alcoholics Anonymous back in 2007 and she always respected him, even after they broke up after briefly dating.

Sundahl, 44, was allegedly working as a private contractor tranporting officials around Afghanistan in a helicopter. His family says he went overseas in an effort to help its people and "repair the country."

The Los Angeles native reportedly told the National Enquirer that he had laid it all on the line for Britney when they met and confessed he didn't think her chances of survival were great if she continued to drink booze. He also says he encouraged her to get soberfor the sake of her children if she had no intention of doing it for herself. He then publicly praised her for changing her life and going in a totally different direction.

More from The Stir: Britney Spears Starts Family Tradition With Boyfriend of Only Two Months (PHOTO)

Brit and Sundahl reportedly remained on friendly terms for years after their split, and there's even a rumor that they got back together last summer, though no one can confirm this AND, if it did happen, it was brief, since the pop singer is very obviously in love with Charlie Ebersol now.

Britney hasn't commented about this tragedy, but a loss like this would be heartbreaking for anyone. Our hearts go out to the singer and Sundahl's family and friends at this difficult time.

Kate Gosselin Reveals Why She Still Doesn't Have a Boyfriend

Post by Lisa Fogarty.

While Jon Gosselin hits up nightclub after nightclub as part of his latest stint as a DJ, his ex-wife Kate Gosselin is pretty much living the polar opposite life: as a single mom with eight children in her custody, you don't expect to see her go-go boots come out of the closet anytime soon. Some women might invite a male companion -- any male companion -- into their lives, just so they can have a romantic adult conversation once in awhile or share a bottle of wine with a person of the opposite sex after chasing children around all day. But Kate says she has a very good reason why dating is low on her list of priorities these days.

The 39-year-old star of Kate Plus 8, who is also appearing on The Celebrity Apprentice 7, reportedly said she would love to date, but simply doesn't have the time for it. Kate says she doesn't even have time to think about what she is looking for in a man -- and I applaud her for that because it shows she isn't willing to settle for whatever comes her way just because she is (maybe) lonely.

She also added something we can't help but think: with a family as famous as hers, it will be quite the challenge to meet a man who is strong enough to deal with all of the publicity that would be thrown on his lap.

Interestingly, Kate admits her children are starting to ask questions about her love life and whether she will be bringing a guy home at any point, and she says she is going to be very careful not to be that mom who just brings some random dude back to her house. She says she realizes her kids need a "male role model" and then adds (her words, not mine): "It is lacking."

Ouch. Ouch, ouch, obvious pin in Jon's heart, ouch.

More from The Stir: 'Kate Plus 8' Season Premiere Recap: The Way Kate Gosselin's Changed Will Shock You

Look. Kate has definitely changed for the better, or so it seems, but the one thing that isn't going to change is her bitterness toward Jon. She still has little but apathy toward him and continues to insist he is "sabotaging" their family and that she's trying her best to make things work.

After finding her to be quite kooky for a few years there, I have to say I am slowly moving over to Team Kate -- not from Team Jon, I should add, but from Team No One.

What are your thoughts on Kate's reason for not dating? Do you think she has changed?

16-Year-Old Boy Lured to His Death By Teen Facebook 'Friend'

Post by Lisa Fogarty.

A 16-year-old boy from the Bronx was reportedly lured to his death by a 17-year-old girl he knew from Facebook. Ricardo Romero was reportedly contacted by the teen girl, who went by the Facebook name "Chiquita Andy," and agreed to meet her at 7 p.m. Friday at an apartment building. It isn't clear whether they were already friends or the reason why he agreed to go to the building. He likely never imagined the night would play out in the horrific way it did.

In the attack, which police say was caught on surveillance video, Romero reportedly arrived at the building and was immediately attacked by a group of young men. The teen was reportedly hit in the head with a bottle, stabbed in the left side of his chest, and robbed of his wallet and cellphone.

The teen then reportedly stumbled around the corner and collapsed on the street, where a passerby spotted him and called police. CPR was administered while cops waited for an ambulance to arrive and take Romero to the hospital, but he died 25 minutes later.

A man named Christian Juarez, who lives in the building where Romero met the girl, was reportedly arrested and charged with murder, robbery, and weapon possession. Police say he named an accomplice -- "Skip" -- who is still on the loose and whom Juarez said was responsible for stabbing the victim.

Juarez claims he hit Romero with a glass bottle and was going through his pockets when Skip allegedly stabbed him two to three times in the torso.

The suspect's girlfriend, 17-year-old Andy, corroborated Juarez's story and told police Skip was responsible for the murder.

Another man named Christian Garcia, 27, was arrested and charged with conspiracy for allegedly taking part in the robbery. Police say he also lived in the same building as Juarez.

Romero reportedly moved to New York City from Mexico with his family about 10 years ago. He lived with his mother and two sisters and worked as a deliveryman, according to his family. Our hearts go out to his grieving family and friends.

5-Year-Old Girl Among 3 Dead In Reported Family Murder-Suicide

Post by Lisa Fogarty.

A 5-year-old girl was one of three people found dead inside of a home in Apple Valley, Minnesota, in an incident that police believe was yet another horrific family murder-suicide. David Crowley, his wife Komel Crowley, and their daughter were discovered dead on Saturday, but detectives say the apparent murder/suicide may have taken place some time ago.

The family's neighbor, Colin Prothnow, told police he assumed they had taken a long Christmas vacation, and had even cleared their driveway of snow twice in the time he thought they were away. He says he became suspicious when he noticed unopened Christmas gifts piling up by their door, so he rang their doorbell, but only heard their dog barking. He then looked through their window.

To his horror, we're sure, he says he found the bodies of Crowley, his wife, and their child on the floor with a black handgun next to them.

Detectives have not released details about how the family members died or how long ago they suspect this happened.

David Crowley was reportedly a veteran and a local filmmaker, while his wife worked as a dietitian. Their little girl has been described as "sweet" and "gifted" and Prothnow had nothing but kind words to say about them.

More from The Stir: Family of 5 Found Shot to Death in Another Possible Murder-Suicide

Prothnow says he never heard the couple fighting and that they seemed like a perfect family. But he also now says that he recalls waking up one night in December hearing what he thought were the sounds of gunshots. He didn't assume it was anything to worry about, so he went back to sleep.

Crowley's neighbors say they have seen guns in his garage, but weren't sure if these were just props he used for his films.

Regardless of the cause of their death, this is an incredibly sad story and we can't begin to imagine how their relatives, friends, and neighbors feel at this time.

What do you think happened here?

Pregnant 'Teen Mom' Star Gets Into a Bad Car Crash With 6-Year-Old Son (PHOTO)

Post by Lisa Fogarty.

Pregnant Teen Mom star Maci Bookout was involved in a frightening car crash with her 6-year-old son Bentley and her vehicle actually flipped over on the highway and was completely totaled. Thankfully, Maci, 23, her son, and her unborn baby girl are all okay. The reality star, who is talking with her boyfriend Taylor McKinney about getting married after the two adjust to raising two children, posted some horrifyingly scary photos of the accident on her Instagram and revealed a few nightmarish details.

Maci was driving at the time and, thank God, both she and Bentley were wearing seat belts. We aren't sure what prompted the crash -- although Maci says it wasn't her fault -- but whatever it was, the impact caused her jeep to flip over three times! How scary is that?!

Maci posted these four photos to Instagram, along with the caption: "Thanking God that Bentley and I were able to walk away from this nightmare with only a few bruises. Thanking God that my unborn baby girl is perfectly healthy after this. I'd also like to @JeepOfficial@Jeep because if our seatbelts and the roll cage had not done their job, I'm not sure my family and I would of had the same outcome. Thanks to everyone that stopped to help, that was huge. I pray everyone else involved is doing okay.#jeepwrangler #rolledthreetimes #terrifying #totaled#notmyfault"

In a not-so-happy coincidence, Bentley's father Ryan Edwards was also involved in a serious car crash last month, and had to wear a neck brace because of it.

More from The Stir: Maci Bookout's Heartbreaking Tweet Makes Us Worried for Her Whole Family

Two words for Maci and her family: be careful. So glad they were smart enough to wear their seatbelts and that, despite the obvious damage done to their vehicle, they all walked away with just a few bruises.

Have you ever been involved in a really bad car crash?

'SNL' Star Pulls Off the Perfect Justin Bieber in Hilarious Calvin Klein Spoof Ad (VIDEO)

Dress Justin Bieber in underwear, allegedly 'plump up' his you-know-what, and ask him to be sexy for Calvin Klein -- then try not to laugh. It's not that the 20-year-old pop star isn't cute or sexy or whatever adjective I hope only 19-year-old girls are using to describe him (personally, the sight of him parading around half-naked kind of creeps me out, but I'm also totally too old for all of this saturnalia). It's just that it's difficult for a lot of us to accept him as a sex symbol when he's so ... young? Hyper aware of himself and his image? Saturday Night Live's Kate McKinnon poked fun at Justin by recreating a hilarious spoof of a Calvin Klein commercial that we sincerely hope is actually being filmed as we speak.

In the black-and-white commerical, which mimics those shot with Mark Walhberg and Kate Moss in the '90s, Kate dons a wig and fake ink up both arms and immediately declares, "I'm a big boy now."

Which. Is. Perfect.

Kate nails Justin's mannerisms and manages to get everything into the video -- including shots of him playing drums, folding his hands in prayer, and getting way too touchy-feeling with married model Lara Stone, whom he famously (allegedly) hit on while shooting the ad campaign.

The ad ends with a funny close-up shot of the underwear size a lot of us imagine Justin wears -- hint: it's probably a lot smaller than Marky Mark's.

Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling Spotted On First Date Night After Birth of Baby (PHOTO)

If there's one thing new parents need after they've had a baby, it's sleep. But right at the heels of a good rest, moms and dads also need a fun night out to get away from the responsibilities of parenthood and just enjoy each other's company. Though most of us wouldn't mind being trapped on a living room couch with Ryan Gosling for the rest of time, we can't blame hot mama Eva Mendes for wanting to get all dolled up for a night on the town with her man. The hot duo made their first appearance as a couple since baby Esmeralda's September birth and both looked beyond gorgeous.

Eva, 40, and Ryan, 34, went to see comic Don Rickles perform at a sold-out show in Beverly Hills. Knowing they would cause mass hysteria, the couple separated in order to get through the front door of the venue, but a photo showing him driving her to the Saban Theatre confirmed that, yes, they are actually together and are not just some sexy desert mirage.

Now, let's talk about Eva and her outfit. In a word: hot. Hot leopard-print shift dress, hot platform heels, hot and stylish turban, hot, hot, hot. I'm not going to get into her post-partum body because I'm guessing many of us are sick of hearing those words. I'll just say, she looks fashionable and like she's glowing from the inside:

Considering how many of us are dealing with hair loss and acne four months after giving birth, Eva doesn't seem to give a flip about all of that. Lesson to moms: get out there when you feel ready. You're the only one who knows you're losing clumps of hair in the shower. And, if you are, wear a turban like Eva's and look smashing.

Now, for Ryan. Sigh. Ryan:

That's about all I have to say. Wait, let me say it again: sigh, Ryan.

5-Year-Old's Family Charged Money for Missing Another Kid's Birthday Party

Post by Lisa Fogarty.

A 5-year-old boy from England was invited to a classmate's birthday party before the holiday break. The party was set to take place at a ski slope and snowboard center, and I don't know how you feel, but that sounds like a hoot compared to some of the princess-themed parties lots of us are forced to attend. Apparently, little Alex thought so too -- and told his dad, Derek Nash, and his partner that he wanted to go to his friend's party. Nash reportedly saw the other child's mom at school and told her Alex was totally looking forward to her son's party. But, oops, Nash then realized he made a boo-boo and had already promised Alex and his sister Lily's grandparents that they could see the kids on the day of the party. Eh, innocent parenting mistake -- but one that Nash may have to now, literally, pay for.

Nash says he wanted to do the right thing and contact the mom to let her know Alex wouldn't be joining them in the festivities, but that they didn't have her contact number, email, or address. I guess the physical invitation got lost somewhere, which is understandable given all of the hoopla that goes on during the holidays.

On the day of the party, Nash even let Alex choose what he wanted to do: and the child decided he'd rather be with his grandparents then on a ski slope.

You can imagine how embarrassing this might be for Alex's parents, and Nash says his partner searched for her on that first day back at school so she could apologize. But no luck.

Then, she says, as she was looking through Alex's school bag later that day, she discovered a brown envelope. And, inside of the envelope, she found an invoice for £15.95 (that's about $24) for a child's party no-show fee.

More from The Stir: Dos & Dont's of Throwing a Kid's Birthday Party

Alex's teacher reportedly admitted that the mom had given her the brown envelope and asked that she pass it along. Since the other mom's address was on the invoice, Nash paid her a little visit to inform her that he wouldn't be cutting her a check to cover the fee anytime soon and that it really wasn't cool for her to go through their kids' teacher instead of just speaking with him about it.

I can totally see his point here. My little girl is at an age where she is just starting to receive invitations to parties. I wouldn't dream of not RSVP'ing because I know how much stress moms and dads are under to plan events for their kids, in addition to everything else they do. But it doesn't sound like Nash purposely tried to blow this mom off. You could argue that he could have forced his son to attend the party and not have given him a choice, but I'm not sure that would have been fair to the children's grandparents.

Plus, can you imagine how uncomfortable it would be to ship your kid off to a party knowing he's going to sulk through the whole thing?

Nash's partner is reportedly speaking with the child's mother via Facebook and trying to resolve this before it goes to court. Hoping they can work it out because it really would be a petty reason for a court appearance and sets a bad example for the kids involved.

Do you think these parents should be forced to pay the party no-show fee?

9-Month-Old Dies After Being Shot By His 5-Year-Old Brother While Mom Is Home

Post by Lisa Fogarty.

Absolutely tragic and sad story from Elmo, Missouri, today: a 5-year-old boy accidentally shot and killed his 9-month-old brother with the family's gun -- while their mother was at home with them and their two young brothers. The incident reportedly took place a little after 9 a.m. Monday, and police say the child had access to a loaded gun that was kept in the same room where his infant sibling slept.

When police received the frantic call from the children's mother, she reportedly told them her infant had been shot in the head with a paintball gun. Once police arrived and investigated, they discovered the weapon was actually a .22 caliber magnum revolver. No further comment has been provided about the woman's original claim -- did she, herself, believe the family only kept paintball guns? Was she just (understandably) nervous, which caused her to say the wrong thing?

The poor baby boy was transported to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities say the parents kept the loaded gun on a shelf that was built into the headboard of their bed. Their infant slept in his crib in the same room as his parents, which is where police retrieved the firearm.

More from The Stir: 5-Year-Old Kills His 2-Year-Old Sister With Gun He Got for His Birthday

Neighbors describe this family as "good" and say the woman has four little boys, including a 3-year-old and 18-month-old. When she realized what her eldest son had done, the mom reportedly rushed her other children out of the house and over to a neighbor's home.

Authorities are now deciding whether charges will be filed against the baby's parents.

Just an absolute tragedy, regardless of where anyone stands on gun issues. This little boy may not understand now what happened, but it's horrific to think of the burden he'll carry throughout his life. Our hearts are with this family as they mourn the loss of their infant.

Do you think the parents in this case should be charged with a crime or was this an accident?

Teen Posed as OB/GYN at Hospital for a Month Before Getting Caught

Post by Lisa Fogarty.

A real-life teen Doogie Howser -- minus the credentials and actual medical knowledge -- was reportedly able to pose as an OB/GYN at a Florida hospital for one month before doctors realized he wasn't who he was pretending to be. Prepare to be creeped out: the 17-year-old boy was reportedly caught as he was giving a woman an examination at St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach.

The teen actually dressed up in a white lab coat with a "St. Mary's" logo and "anesthesiology" embroidered on the front, according to staffers who assumed he was their colleague. Police say he had many employees convinced that he was a doctor and that a surveillance video caught him roaming the hallways of St. Mary's without actually entering any rooms.

Gynecologist Sebastian Kent finally concluded that something was up after he realized the teen's medical training seemed odd. He called hospital security and the police and later revealed the teen had left a note on his desk, requesting that he be allowed to "shadow" Kent.

Kent says he was discovered in the room with a patient and had introduced himself as "Doctor Robinson." He was even wearing a stethoscope around his neck and a mask on his face.

Holy moly.

The hospital released the following statement after this embarrassing incident went public:

The individual never had contact with any hospital patients and did not gain access to any patient care areas of the hospital at any time. The hospital immediately notified local authorities, who took the individual into custody, and we are cooperating with their ongoing investigation.

This might all have a simple, yet sad, explanation. The teen's mom reportedly rushed to the hospital to let authorities know her son has an illness and has not taken his medication. Police have decided not to charge the teen, which I think is the right move, especially considering the fact that he may have a mental disorder. If this is the case, prison is the last place that is going to help him.

With all that said, is anyone else wondering how no one looked at this teen and thought, Hold on just a second. I mean, 25-year-olds are beginning to look young to me, I admit, BUT a 17-year-old?! Furthermore, wasn't he supposed to be at school at the time he was playing doctor? How did this go unnoticed for an entire month?

Are you surprised this teen got away with this for so long? Do you think he should have been charged for a crime?

GOP Senator Says She Wore 'Bread Bags' on Her Feet to School and Twitter Goes Wild

Post by Lisa Fogarty.

Newly elected Republican Senator Joni Ernst from Iowa had the honor of delivering the GOP rebuttal to President Obama's State of the Union address last night. This was Ernst's shining moment -- an opportunity for her to really come out, represent her party, introduce herself to the nation, and tell us what she stands for. And she did. Ernst more or less touched upon every single hot topic the country faces -- from tearing down trade barriers to sell more American products overseas to the Keystone Pipeline to terrorism. But there were only two words most people heard toward the very beginning of her speech: "bread bag." And, with that, Twitter exploded and dozens of mocking memes were born.

Ernst chose to focus on the fact that she is from very humble beginnings and that her family was so poor they couldn't afford to purchase more than one pair of shoes for her. Or as she put it:

You see, growing up, I had only one good pair of shoes. So on rainy school days, my mom would slip plastic bread bags over them to keep them dry. But I was never embarrassed. Because the school bus would be filled with rows and rows of young Iowans with bread bags slipped over their feet.

This story could be 100 percent accurate -- I'm not in a position to say anything otherwise. The thing that made so many critical of her afterward wasn't her tale of poverty and her obvious attempt to seem relatable (she isn't the first elected official and won't be the last to do that), it was her inability to deliver content without sounding like a sedated robot. Or to focus on a few important topics and really bring them home.

Honestly, the entire speech was sloppy soup.

But, hey, she did become Mrs. Popularity for the night, which is worth something. Here's just one of the many memes to emerge from what we're pretty sure was the first "bread bags" speech in American history:

In case you missed it, here's Ernst's rebuttal. The comments that made everyone wild appear around minute 1:50:

Unvaccinated Kids Banned From School After Classmate Gets Sick

Post by Lisa Fogarty.

The children of parents who choose not to have them vaccinated may be subject to a severe consequence should one of their classmates contract an illness like the measles: he or she may be ordered to stay home and miss an unbelievable amount of class time. That's what happened to Michelle Renfro's 15-year-old daughter, Rebecca, who is one of 24 unvaccinated students at Huntington Beach High School in California who is prohibited from returning to school because a classmate has measles.

Renfro's case is a little different because, as she explains, she didn't have a choice about vaccinations. When Rebecca's older brother received the measles shot as a baby, his throat closed up and he suffered a severe allergic reaction. A doctor advised Renfro not to give her daughter the vaccination and she took his advice.

Rebecca did receive all of her other shots though, and Renfro says she is tired of all of the nasty comments and judgments being passed down on her family by people who know nothing about them.

Granted, Renfro's story is unusual. But the school has decided the safest course of action right now is to force those unvaccinated students to stay at home to avoid a measles outbreak. Considering how the state of California is already dealing with a measles outbreak that stemmed from Disneylandand Disney California Adventure, I don't personally blame the school for being cautious. So far, 19 people have reportedly fallen ill with symptoms of the measles -- and nine of those involve children between the ages of 8 months and 21 years old.

But parents like Renfro are still outraged that their kids will be missing at least 21 days of school while they are quarantined. Their grades have been frozen, but they are reportedly not going to be able to take their semester final examinations, which are being given this week.

More from The Stir: Quiz: How Much Do You Really Know About Vaccines?

And that may not be the worst of it. If another student contracts the measles during the time they are quarantined, the school may reportedly extend what they're calling a "medical suspension" for another 21 days.

Whatever our thoughts and feelings are regarding the school's actions, administrators are obviously being allowed to do this for the well-being of its students. As parents, we need to be aware of all of the pros and cons of vaccinating our children, and it seems this might just emerge as a very big con -- one that we are probably not thinking about when our babies are only a few months old and school seems like years away.

Do you think schools should have the right to make kids stay home if they aren't vaccinated and another classmate contracts a contagious illness?

St. Louis Police Officers Shoot and Kill 19-Year-Old 'Armed' Teenager

Post by Lisa Fogarty.

Police officers in St. Louis reportedly fatally shot an armed teenager who they say refused to follow orders and drop his gun on Wednesday night. The 19-year-old boy was allegedly a passenger in a car that had been reported stolen in December and that police were tailgating right before the shooting. The car reportedly crashed into a wall and the engine stopped. Police say that was when the teen got out of the vehicle with a Tec 9 firearm in his hand and attempted to flee the scene.

The officers say they ordered the young man to drop his weapon, but that he didn't follow their command. They reportedly shot him and he died later that evening at the hospital.

Considering how this incident took place just five months after the contentious killing of unarmed teen Michael Brown by a Caucasian police officer, it's impossible not to mention the races of everyone involved, as crazy as it seems to have to do so. The 19-year-old passenger was African-American. One of the police officers involved in the shooting was Caucasian, and his partner was African-American.

The driver of the stolen vehicle, who was African-American, was reportedly taken into police custody.

The New York Times recently reported that the Justice Department will likely recommend that no civil rights charges be brought up against Police Officer Darren Wilson, who shot Brown in August. We're not yet sure whether this news—in addition to the most recent shooting of this armed St Louis teen—will bring about even more protests in a city that has experienced an incredible amount of tension since the summer.

What are your thoughts on this shooting?

Mom Goes on Strike and Leaves Her Kids to Fend for Themselves (VIDEO)

Post by Lisa Fogarty.

Admit it: how many times have you said, "I'm done, I'm through—I'm going on strike!" No, not from your job—everything's peachy keen there. From your kids. Those cute little people you live with who seem to forget their manners every time you're in the room, but who are perfect angels everywhere else they go. One mom in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is our hero today because she's actually doing it. She's on strike from parenting because, she says, her two teenage daughters are out of control.

Naasira Muhammad made a sign that reads "Mom On Strike" and is marching up and down her street in order to show her teens that they do not rule the roost.

So, what was the straw that broke the camel's back for her? One of her daughters apparently keyed the car, which would have made me crazy, too. She says going on strike was pretty much the only solution she could think of other than—get ready for it—"getting rid of" her children.

You will not hear me pass judgment on this mom anytime soon because, lord knows, I've felt the same way at times. Whenever my 3-year-old decides the ideal time to flex her independent muscle is when I'm trying to pay for groceries at the store and she refuses to fork over the crackers and has a fit about it in public? Visions of strike signs dance through my head.

Or when my darling girl tells me she can't play with her $100 collection of Disney princesses because it's really unfair that she is missing Ariel (stupid mommy), oh boy, I'd like to call a strike on the purchasing of all future gifts.

There are other examples. She puts in her breakfast order with me at 6 p.m. the night before and requests fresh strawberries because the frozen ones I've given her are "yucky." Strike plus lesson about the prices of imported fruit at this time of the year seem like a solid solution.

Since she's only 3, I don't have a keying-the-car-type story. Yet. I also can't actually go on an actual strike since my daughter and her 10-month-old brother need me to do nearly everything for them, not that my toddler will ever admit this.

So, sometimes I go on mental strikes instead. Here's how it works: my daughter pops out of her room 16 times when she's supposed to be sleeping, I refuse to engage in conversation and say in an even voice, "Back to bed." And that's about as far as my strike goes. Does she get what I'm trying to do? No, there isn't a snowball's chance in hell she gets it, but at least I feel like I'm taking a (passive, silent) stand.

More from The Stir: 14 Bold, Briliant Ways Parents Have Disciplined Their Kids

The gloves will come off once they're teens though. If they decide they aren't going to follow rules and be respectful, I can see myself throwing my hands up and saying, I'm done. Or maybe not I'm done, which I can't help but imagine would give my children a valid excuse to stay out all hours of the night and act like maniacs, but at the very least: I call a time-out.

This mom seems like she genuinely cares for her children, but is simply at her wits' end. I hope her daughters learn to appreciate the one mom they have and begin treating her with the respect she deserves.

Here she is:

What are your thoughts on this mother's parenting strike? Do you think it will work?
