Angelina Jolie Honors Her Late Mom At Wedding to Brad Pitt In Sweet Way

We all know that Angelina Jolie has more on her mind than her own wedding to Brad Pitt, which we recently discovered took place in secret at Chateau Miraval in the village of Correns, France -- a home they bought and renovated a few years ago. Instead of making the publicity surrounding the wedding all about her, she took the opportunity to use it to speak out about Syria. And, as it turns out, she wasn't even thinking of herself during her actual nuptials -- she had her late mom Marcheline Bertrand on the brain.

Angie lost her beloved mother to ovarian cancer in 2007. Before she died, the actress made her a promise that she stuck to on her wedding day. And, she wore something special and sweet over her wedding dress that paid homage to one of the most important people in her life.

The 39-year-old beauty had promised Marcheline she would exchange vows with Brad in France. Her mom had French roots, as her father was French Canadian, and I'm guessing her connection with France has everything to do with why Angelina and Brad bought property in the beautiful country AND chose it as the birthplace of twins Vivienne and Knox. There's no denying we get a warm feeling when we visit the homes of loved ones who passed on, so it's simple to see why Angelina might want to spend most of her time overseas.

The second beautiful way Angelina honored her mom was by wearing a locket with her photo tucked inside of it as she walked down the aisle.

I absolutely love the idea of choosing special pieces of jewelry that mean something to you on your wedding day instead of buying everything brand new -- especially if there's someone in your life whom you can't stop thinking about and wish could be around to see you wed.

We're sure Marcheline would be super proud of the woman and mom her daughter has become and she continues to blow us away with her countless selfless acts.

What the best way you've ever heard of someone honoring a late relative or friend at their wedding?
