Clik here to view. The royal couple are planning a big trip in 2016 -- and it will be a first for both of them. Kate Middleton and Prince William have been invited to visit India on a maiden tour of the country.
Kensington Palace announced the news about Kate and Will's next big adventure in a tweet: "The Duke and Duchess will visit #India in the spring of 2016, at the request of HM's government. It will be the first time The Duke and Duchess have visited the country. Further #RoyalVisitIndia details will be announced early next year!"
The last time the couple traveled together was in December 2014, when they embarked on a three-day tour of New York. Considering how this is the first time either of them will touch foot in India, their schedule is bound to be packed with engagements -- they certainly have a long way to go before they catch up to Prince Charles, who has made eight official royal tours of the country. Since this is more or less a work trip for Kate and Will, it is believed they will not take Prince George or Princess Charlotte along for the ride.
More from The Stir: Kate Middleton & Prince William's Romantic Trip Couldn't Get Any Hotter
I love the idea of the royal couple benefiting from some much-needed alone time in an exotic location far from home. I'm sure both are nervous about leaving George and Charlotte, but they're always going to be in good hands -- whether that means leaving them with trusted nannies or grandma Carole Middleton. Every time Kate and Will work or host together, they become a more solid couple. A trip to India to see the country for the first time together is a fantastic idea.
