Prince George's Beach Day With Grandma Carole Is So Sweet We Can Hardly Stand It

There's nothing like a grandparent to spoil you, take you places, and show you unconditional love. Prince George had a beach day with grandma Carole Middleton, who let him run free and celebrate his second birthday in the sand.

On the morning of his birthday, before little George enjoyed party time back home with his family, Carole took him and his family's dog, Lupo, to a beach in Norfolk, where the two built sand castles, frolicked in the water, and played all morning — check out the cute photo of Prince George and Carole here. The weather was a bit chilly and they had to wear their jackets, but that didn't keep them from having an awesome time together.

George has been enjoying a lot of family time since Charlotte's birth — which may not be a coincidence. He and mom Kate have been on several park outings and he has reportedly been spending a great deal of time with Carole, who recently took him to Bucklebury Farm Park. Grandpa Prince Charles has even gotten in on the action — he had a toddler playground constructed in his garden as a surprise for George's birthday. The message behind his gift is clear: Like Carole, he wants to spend more time with his grandson.

With a new baby in the house, it's more important now than ever for George to feel like he is receiving his share of attention and affection. The fact that his grandparents are so caring and involved only makes Kate and Will's lives easier and will help George transition from only child to big brother.
