Fatherhood suits Derick Dillard. The doting 26-year-old star of 19 Kids and Counting celebrated baby Israel's 1-month-old birthday (can you believe it has already been one month?) by posting the most adorable photo on Instagram of his big, beautiful 11-pound baby boy.
Jill Duggar, 23, gave birth to Israel on April 7 after an astounding 70-hour labor that resulted in an emergency C-section. From the get-go, her little guy wasn't so little: he was born weighing 9 pounds, 10 ounces and, at 23 inches in height, was a natural-born basketball player.
One thing we've loved since Jill and Derick welcomed Israel David into the world is that they haven't been shy about sharing photos of him with their fans. And, my goodness, he's just too precious for words. Here is Derick's latest photo post, in honor of Israel's one-month birthday:

Ladies, it appears we have a scratcher, which would explain those adorable little mittens. That face. Those sweet eyes and teeny nose—this child looks like he was born thinking about something interesting.

As amazing as he is, the one thing we can't get over is how sturdy and strong this little guy is—both of my babies were such peanuts at this age! I remember feeling so much more confident about my mommy skills once my children were out of newborn and 3-month-old clothing and had a little more meat on their bones. Up until then I (and especially my husband) always felt like they were too fragile to withstand a strong hug.
Anyway, Derick is loving being a daddy and he seems like a natural at it. There's no doubt these two boys have something very special planned for Jill on Mother's Day.
