Angelina Jolie made her first public appearance at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards since having surgery to remove her ovaries and, in typical Angie fashion, stunned the crowd with her inspirational words and presence. While accepting an award for Favorite Villain for her work in Maleficent, the actress, mom, and humanitarian spoke directly to kids who feel like outcasts.

Just a few days ago, Angelina made the brave decision to pen a beautiful and honest essay about her decision to have her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed in order to prevent ovarian cancer.  Her health scare didn't prevent her from putting on her finest and accompanying daughters Shiloh and Zahara to the Kids' Choice Awards, where she showed she doesn't think she's too big a star to deliver her message of self-love and acceptance to those who need it most.

A glowing 39-year-old Angie took the stage and spoke directly to the young audience:

Don't fit in. Don't sit still. Don't ever try to be less than what you are. And whenever someone tells you that you are different, smile and hold your head up high and be proud."

More from The Stir: Angelina Jolie Sends Powerful Message to Women Whose Fertility Is Suddenly Taken Away

Is there anyone this woman can't inspire? Just a few days ago, she made it clear to women that the fact that her elective surgery has forced her into early menopause is not reason enough for her to feel less feminine. In fact, she feels more like a woman because she is taking responsibility for her health and her children by making these difficult choices.

And now, the message she has delivered to preteens and teens sounds like the best advice any mom or dad can give their own children: be original and don't be afraid to stand out from the crowd.

More from The Stir: Angelina Jolie Lets 8-Year-Old Shiloh Change Her Name

Angelina has built her successful career and happy home life on that advice and we're happy to know she is passing on the same words of wisdom to her children—particularly Shiloh. Angelina has been criticized by some for letting her little girl wear tuxedos to public appearances and change her name to "John." But she continues to prove, time and time again, that she's really and truly a warm and accepting mom and human being.

Here she is accepting her award:

Pregnant Meteorologist Shares Cruel Letters About Her Appearance (VIDEO)

Post by Lisa Fogarty.

Anyone who has flipped past Fox News knows we don't let any woman on TV—even a news anchor—off the hook when it comes to her hotness. For those who assume pregnancy is the one time when women are given a pass, a Canadian meteorologist confirmed our worst fears about society when she read some of the horrific letters she has received from viewers about her body while she is pregnant with her second child.

Global B.C. meteorologist Kristi Gordon is savvy enough to know folks are going to hide behind their anonymity and spew hate over the Internet over her appearance no matter what. That's why she actually asked people to be nice to her when she first revealed her second pregnancy on a segment of the show. The fact that she even feels like she has to do that is appalling.

But the realization that she was totally right—some people really are that mean and unhappy with their own lives—makes matters 100 times worse. It seems Gordon has been receiving hate mail and none of it addresses the way she discusses cold fronts. Nope, people just really don't like seeing her pregnant body on their TV screens and, I guess, want her to stop being pregnant. Or at least have the decency to hide herself away while pregnant.

To the news program's credit, they actually took time out in the show to let Gordon share portions of some of the letters she has received. And they are eye-opening, to say the least:

"Nowhere on North America TV have we seen a weather reader so gross as you,” read one letter.

Another: “Your front end looks like the Hindenburg and your rear-end looks like a brick sh—house. We now turn off Global."

They turn off the news because they can't stand seeing a woman creating life?! Sound like charming folks.

Third letter: “Buy some decent clothes and have more respect for your unborn child."

Another fashionista had this to say: “Looser tops would look much more professional.”

More from The Stir: Harassed Female Meteorologist Gets Back at Troll in the Best Way

Let's be real: Gordon's attire has nothing to do with this. Some cowardly people still feel they should use the little power they have while hiding in their homes and typing away on a keyboard to attempt to bring down a woman who is trying her best to have kids and a career (heaven forbid).

More power to Gordon for confronting her bullies by addressing this issue instead of letting it take over her psyche. I sincerely hope she turns up to work while 9 months pregnant wearing the tightest dress she can find. If she could flip the bird while delivering the weather without losing her job, I totally support that as well.

Here's the segment:

Why do you think people have written such cruel things to Gordon about her appearance?

Woman Wears Corset 23 Hours a Day and Achieves Tiny Waist (PHOTO)

Is there a such thing as too much of a good thing when it comes to how teeny weeny a woman can make her waist? Barbie would disagree, but one woman's insane ritual of wearing a corset every day for 23 hours—which she has been doing for the last six years—has helped her achieve her ultimate body goal: a 20-inch waist.

Waist training has been in the news a lot lately, mostly thanks to the Kardashian sisters, who have shed inches and inches off of their already-slim waists with the help of special waist-training corsets.

But a Venezuelan model named Aleira Avendano, who is 25, has every celeb who is just getting hip to this "fitness" trend beat because she has been wearing her corset for six incredibly painful (or at least uncomforable) years, and she only gives her body a break for one hour each day, which I assume is the time she takes a shower and gets dressed.

And the proof that this works is her waist—which is so small it's practically impossible to see when she is photographed from certain angles. Here she is:

Image may be NSFW.

Different strokes for different folks. I don't like to criticize women or men for decisions they make about their own bodies, even if this isn't my thing. The only thing I can think about when I see this is how my quality of life wouldn't be the same if I had to wear a constricting corset practically every minute of the day. For me, this wouldn't be worth the hassle or pain.

More from The Stir: Kailyn Lowry Shares 'Waist Training' Photo You Have to See to Believe

But Avendano makes a living off of her curves, more so than most  fashion models because she is a glamour model who has appeared in magazines like Playboy. With so many women going under the knife—especially in that business—it must be impossible to stand apart from others at casting calls. Avendano's crazy constant waist-training probably pays off for her when she books jobs.

I prefer a more realistic female silhouette, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't find this fascinating.

Would you do what this model did to achieve a 20-inch waist?

Jill Duggar Does Something Selfless While Waiting to Give Birth (PHOTO)

Most women who are about to give birth—who are even four days past their due date, as is the case with Jill Duggar—would not be quick to leave their homes out of fear that their baby will demand to meet the world at any second. But the 23-year-old 19 Kids and Counting star kept busy waiting for her little one by doing something wonderful and selfless.

We know the Duggars are big on performing volunteer work, but no one would fault heavily pregnant Jill if she decided to hibernate at this moment, veg out, and watch movies. After all, she's just days (or hours, minutes, seconds) from giving birth and having her entire universe change on a dime.

But we should have known better. Jill and husband Derick Dillard made their way to a church's thrift shop to clock in a few hours of good work before becoming parents:

One thing is for sure: Jill must be feeling wonderful if she had the energy and desire to work when a lot of women probably just want to be off of their feet. I had two relatively easy pregnancies, but by 36 weeks, I had officially had it. My feet were swollen, my back hurt, I couldn't sleep—but looking back now, had I been a wiser woman, I would have taken a cue from Jill and used my time to do things I probably wouldn't be able to do for at least a few weeks after baby is born.

More from The Stir: Jill Duggar Flaunts Growing Baby Bump in Latest Pregnancy Pic (PHOTO)

So, when is Jill and Derick's little one finally going to arrive?! Derick seems to have a feeling that it will happen TODAY—which is also the couple's one-year anniversary of the day he proposed to Jill.

Stay tuned, guys, because it's bound to happen soon.

What are your thoughts on the way Jill and Derick are spending their last few hours or days before baby?

Scientology Documentary 'Going Clear:' All the Juicy Bits for Those Who Haven't Seen It Yet!

Post by Lisa Fogarty.

Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view.
HBO's riveting expose on Scientology, Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief, which premiered Sunday night, offered the most riveting, intimate, and comprehensive account of the religion/cult we've seen thus far. The documentary was created by Alex Gibney, a former Scientologist, featured interviews with key former members of the group, and even went into depth about Tom Cruise and John Travolta's involvement with Scientology. These 13 unbelievable revelations from the documentary will shock you.

1. According to the wife of Scientology's founder and guru L. Ron Hubbard, he was FAR from an ideal husband. At one point, she says he hit her on the side of the head with a .45 handgun because she was smiling in her sleep and, later, abducted their daughter, took her to Cuba—where he allowed a mentally challenged mother and daughter to raise her—and called his wife to tell her he had killed their child and chopped her up into pieces.

2. Hubbard once wrote a letter to the Veteran's Administration, begging for psychiatric help because he suspected he was going crazy. Rumor has it he took psychiatric drugs.

3. John Travolta, one of Scientology's most famous members, reportedly tried to leave the group at one point and a team was immediately put to work researching his audit files to compile the most "damning" revelations they could so that they could hold them over his head and force him to stay.

4. In exchange for his loyalty, Scientologists protected Travolta by taking legal action against everyone who claimed he was a homosexual in the tabloids. According to Scientologists, homosexuality is a disease that must be cured through the auditing process.

5. People pay hundreds of thousands of dollars before they even find out about the "religious" aspect of Scientology. At first, they must pay for each audit they complete until they achieve a level where they are then given secret documents handwritten by Hubbard about "Xenu." All of their auditing sessions are recorded, something former Scientologists say is a form a blackmail that keeps them shamed into staying in Scientology.

6. Speaking of "Xenu," here is a brief version of the story they read after paying a great sum of money for the privilege: Xenu was the leader of the Galactic Confederacy galaxy that existed 75 million years ago, which included Earth. In order to stop overpopulation, he sent millions of people to Earth in a spaceship, where they were then placed on top of volcanoes and blown up using hydrogen bombs. Their dead souls are stuck inside and outside of our bodies and auditing helps "kill" them off.

More from The Stir: Leah Remini Reveals the Hardest Part of Leaving Scientology

7. People who were invited to work in Scientology's Sea Organization agreed to do so for pennies each day. They scrubbed and fixed Hubbard's ship.

8. Sea org members were discouraged from having children and/or told to have abortions because children were seen as a hindrance to their cause.

9. Those sea organization members who did have children were separated from them. Children were placed in a group called the Cadet Organization so that their parents wouldn't be distracted and could focus on the Scientology mission. One woman said she went to pick up her young daughter from the Cadets and found her burning with a fever and covered in fruit flies and her own feces, which promoted her to escape Scientology.

10. Scientology members who were perceived as a threat, for whatever reason, were physically beaten and tortured.

11. When Tom Cruise married Nicole Kidman, she was immediately labeled a "suppressive person" because her father was a well known psychologist in Australia and she posed a threat to Tom's involvement with Scientology. Group members admitted they were told to try and break them up.

12. Scientologists were also instructed to turn Kidman's adopted kids against her so that Cruise would receive sole custody of them after their divorce.

13. After Cruise and Kidman broke up, the actor expressed how lonely he felt to members of the group. In response, they enlisted a young Scientologist named Nazanin Boniadi—an actress who would later appear in Homeland—to become Tom's girlfriend. They gave her a makeover so that she looked like Tom's type of girl and everything. But when Boniadi found out there were other women being considered for Cruise while she was with him, she became upset, which prompted Scientologists to pull her from the house where she lived with Cruise and basically "erase" any memory of her having lived there.

13. Members of Scientology are told to "disconnect" from anyone who leaves the group, whether than means their friends, husband or own children.

Parents of 'Big Boys' Could Be Ignoring a Dangerous Health Problem

Post by Lisa Fogarty.

Clik here to view.
Parents think their children are perfect and beautiful—because they are—but our blindness to at least one aspect of their physical appearance could be hurting their health. Experts say one-third of parents underestimate their child's weight and that this is even more prevalent in parents of boys.

A new study reveals 31 percent of parents surveyed underestimated their child's body mass index on an obesity scale, while the parents of just four children out of 369 who are identified as being "very overweight" recognized that fact.

It's possible we've become so sensitive to body shaming that we fear raising our children in a way that makes them feel bad about their weight. We can't fault these parents completely, and I don't feel these findings are all that shocking.

What I do find interesting: the majority of parents who underestimated their child's weight were of African or South Asian descent, from poverty-stricken backgrounds, or had little boys.

It didn't take long for me to think, well, of course they have boys.

Chubby boys don't have it easy—I am not suggesting they aren't victims of bullying and discrimination. But there are places for them in our society that aren't always open to "big girls." And, because of this, we sometimes tend to diminish their extra weight and figure it'll just melt off once that growth spurt hits.

In the meantime, "big boys" can be valuable members of their school's football team. If they have a sense of humor, they can follow in Chris Farley's footsteps and be the "ideal" class clown. "Cute big boys" can learn to cook and be adorable and quirky like Mario Batali.

Most importantly, "big boys" can be "strong boys" who aren't messed with because that skinny little bully in class assumes he'll be able to physically overpower him.

More from The Stir: There's Nothing 'Cute' About Photo of 10-Month-Old With Extreme Baby Fat

Big girls aren't given the same leeway when it comes to their appearances. From the time she is a toddler, a girl's worth is determined by her beauty. If we think our daughters aren't aware of which little girl in their class gets the most attention for her dimples or strawberry-blonde hair, we're mistaken.

A girl's formidable size and strength does her little good. After a certain age, her chubby cheeks and belly aren't called "cute." And, while we may excuse our son's desire to eat a second hamburger because he is, after all, a "growing boy," we rarely let our little girls off the hook when they want more food than we've deemed necessary.

I don't think we should be as blind to our daughter's weight as we are to our son's size, but we should work harder at thinking in terms of health for our children and in being aware of the bias we might have when it comes to a boy's weight and eating habits.

Bottom line: both boys and girls benefit more from apples than potato chips and all children feel better when they are a healthy weight.

Why do you think a lot of parents underestimate their son's weight?

Indiana Pizzeria Owners Shouldn't Be the Target After Their Stupid Anti-Gay Remark

Post by Lisa Fogarty.

Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view.
Indiana is enjoying a moment in the sun this week—or in a giant fireball spit out by the sun, I should say. After Gov. Mike Pence signed off on the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, there has been no end to the debate over whether the law purposely allows businesses to shun homosexuals in the name of religion. A family of pizzeria owners who made a controversial declaration about what the law means to them are now paying for it—with their business.

The father and daughter owners of Memories Pizzeria in Walkerton reportedly told a local TV station they would refuse to serve gay couples by providing catering services at their wedding after the law takes effect this July. They probably never expected to become the face of the anti-gay argument against this act, but that's pretty much what happened and now, like it or not, they are national news.

This obviously doesn't mean people are planning to make a pilgrimage from wherever they live to have a slice at the now-world famous Memories Pizzeria. Quite the opposite. Crystal O'Connor and her father have had to close up shop and say they aren't sure when, or if, it will ever be safe to reopen, given all of the negative attention they are receiving.

As is usually the case when something like this happens, misguided people have reportedly been threatening O'Connor's family, even though it's obviously hypocritical to come down on someone for treating a group of people as if they don't deserve to exist only to turn around and do the same exact thing.

A high school girls' golf coach was suspended this week for allegedly tweeting this message about the pizzeria:

"Who's going to Walkerton, IN to burn down #memoriespizza w me? Agree with #FreedomofReligion bill? "That's a lifestyle they CHOOSE" Ignorant"

In addition to this tweet, others have come forward to criticize the pizzeria and quite a few Yelp reviews that have more to do with God then the quality of their pizza have been written in the last 24 hours alone.

More from The Stir: Indiana Governor Won't Let You Get An Abortion

I strongly dislike this law and everything it stands for, mainly because the language is so ambiguous it gives business owners like these a fine excuse to put their religious beliefs ahead of their need to serve their community—every single person in their community.

But the only reasonable and humane response is to not frequent a business if you don't approve of their values. Threatening anyone with violence for the greater good of humanity makes absolutely no sense and should never be tolerated. People who are mad are really angry at lawmakers for creating this pathetic, cowardly law. Politicians have the luxury of passing this law and then sitting back and watching as people hurt one another and fight amongst themselves.

Stand up against the elected officials who made it possible to give so much power to two pizzeria owners—the law isn't going to change if you burn down a pizzeria.

As for the business owners, they say they are in hiding. There are plenty of folks still rooting for them though, and the proof is in the fact that they have raised more than $220,000 in donations through a GoFundMe page set up for them less than one day ago.

Do you think it's fair for these business owners to lose everything because they said they would refuse to serve gay couples at weddings under the Religious Freedom Restoration Act?

Smartest Dad Ever David Beckham Chaperoned His 14-Year-Old Son's Dates

Post by Lisa Fogarty.

Clik here to view.
It must be difficult enough growing up with hotties David and Victoria Beckham as your parents. To make matters worse, the soccer legend recently admitted he allowed his 16-year-old son Brooklyn to date when he was just 14—with one caveat: he followed them to the restaurant.

David says his eldest son was honest with him when he was just 14 and actually confided in him that there was a girl he liked whom he wanted to treat to a nice Valentine's Day dinner out on the town. Let's just get this out of the way: awwwww! How adorable is it that a boy feels comfortable enough to chat openly with his dad? This is a testament to their strong relationship and to David's super-cool, modern parenting skills.

Now, let's focus on his age. Holy cow, 14 is young! It's pretty clear Victoria is the disciplinarian in the family because David says she told him the only way she'd allow Brooklyn to take a girl out is if he drove them to and from the restaurant AND stayed with them there.

Did a part of you just die for this poor child just thinking about the embarrassment of having your dad order sushi for you while the girl of your dreams sits inches away? Well, the good news is that David gave his little guy more freedom that that. He says he sat five tables away and that when his 4-year-old daughter is old enough to date, he'll sit even closer.

Parents can't seem to agree on the ideal age in which their children should be allowed to begin dating. Personally, I'd love it if my kids focused on school, sports, and friends and didn't date until they were at least 16. But, looking back at my own dating history, I doubt this is going to happen.

When I was 14, I had my first little boyfriend. He didn't take me out to dinner, unless you count buying me french fries at a diner at 3 in the afternoon while a group of 20 of our closest friends sat gathered around a table making loud, obnoxious noises. My parents, of course, never found out about this "boyfriend," whom I'm sure was my significant other for no longer than two weeks.

More from The Stir: David Beckham Says Little Girl Harper Won't Date & That's So Hot (VIDEO)

I think David and Victoria's way is infinitely better. Their teen got an opportunity to learn at an early age how to take a girl out on a proper date which, judging by what David says he is teaching him, includes holding doors and chairs for the young lady. He doesn't have a reason to try and sneak off with girls because he isn't being treated as if he has to stay away from them.

At the same time, his parents have made it perfectly clear that he is too young to date on his own and that there are boundaries at his age. They've given him enough freedom to explore this new, exciting world of dating, but not so much that he feels like he's in over his head.

Is anyone else wondering whether this lucky girl's mom just so happened to "drop in" at the restaurant at the same time David was on his spy mission?

What do you think about David Beckham following his 14-year-old on a date?

Mom Writes Her Own Witty, Heartbreaking Obituary Before She Dies of Cancer

Post by Lisa Fogarty.

What will people say about you when you die? Will your obituary do you justice? A morbid thought, maybe, but one sassy, spunky, life-loving woman from Orange Park, Florida, took matters into her own hands and wrote her own obituary two weeks before she passed away at age 69 from pancreatic cancer. And the result is a touching and inspiring look back at a life well lived.

Emily Phillips was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer just 29 days before her death. She called her family into her hospital room and made the decision to share the obit she wrote for herself, which was published in the Jacksonville Times-Union.

Judging by some of the stories she shared in her obituary, it's pretty obvious she was a strong-willed, passionate, and interesting woman who had a wicked sense of humor ...

It paints me to admit it, but apparently, I have passed away. Everyone told me it would happen one day, but that's simply not something I wanted to hear, much less experience. Once again, I didn't get things my way! That's been the story of my life all my life!

... A woman who knew the importance of gratitude and of giving thanks to people who inspired her to become the woman she became ...

As a child I walked to the old Hazelwood Elementary School where teachers like Mrs. McCracken, Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Moody planted the seed that eventually led me to becoming a teacher. I proudly started my teaching career at that same elementary school in January 1968, and from there I went on to teach young children in the neighboring states of Virginia, Georgia, as well as Florida where I retired after 25 years.
So many things in my life seemed of little significance at the time they happened but then took on a greater importance as I got older. The memories I'm taking with me now are so precious and have more value than all the gold and silver in my jewelry box.   ... She was a beauty queen and Southern Belle (how cool is that?)...   I remember the thrill of leading our high school band down King Street in New Orleans for Mardi Gras (I was head majorette). I remember representing Waynesville in the Miss North Carolina Pageant, and yes, I twirled my baton to the tune of ""Dixie"". It could have been no other way.   ... She was lucky in love ...   I married the man of my dreams (tall, dark, and handsome) on December 16, 1967 and from that day on I was proud to be Mrs. Charlie Phillips, Grand Diva Of All Things Domestic. Our plan was to have two children, a girl and a boy. Inexplicably we were successful in doing exactly that when we were blessed with our daughter Bonnie and then later our son Scott. Seeing these two grow into who they were supposed to be brought a wonderful sense of meaning to our lives. More from The Stir: Grandma's Obituary Declares 'Ding Dong the Witch Is Dead'    ... And reminds us that the heart continues to expand in ways we never thought possible—and growing older allows that to happen:   Just when I thought I was too old to fall in love again, I became a grandmother, and my five grand-angels stole not only my heart, but also spent most of my money.   Finally, Phillips leaves us laughing and feeling inspired to live our own lives as fully as she lived hers:   So…I was born; I blinked; and it was over. No buildings named after me; no monuments erected in my honor.
But I DID have the chance to know and love each and every friend as well as all my family members. How much more blessed can a person be?
So in the end, remember…do your best, follow your arrow, and make something amazing out of your life. Oh, and never stop smiling.   Thank you, Phillips, for this gift. Rest in peace.   What do you think about this woman's decision to write her own obituary? What would you write in yours?

Rihanna Breaks Into Jimmy Kimmel's Bedroom to Pull the Ultimate Prank (VIDEO)

If you surveyed 1,000 men, 999.9 of them would likely kill to wake up and find Rihanna crawling around their bed, all decked out in one of her slick, hot, very-Rihanna outfits. The singer pulled the ultimate April Fool's prank on Jimmy Kimmel by crashing his bedroom, but the result was a little less sexy and a lot more hilarious than we're guessing the late night show host had ever imagined.

Rihanna thought it might be fun to turn the tables on Jimmy, who is known for orchestrating his own pranks on both unsuspecting celebrities and non-celebs. With the help of his wife, the singer and her entourage broke into his home and bedroom—and likely tore up his bed sheets by forgetting to remove the world's spikiest platform shoes. Check out the mayhem:

See this video on The Stir by CafeMom.

This is exactly how I picture Rihanna spending her nights, by the way, when she isn't partying with Leonardo DiCaprio or throwing water balloons off of hotel balconies in St. Barths. Judging by Kimmel's shocked reaction and inability to fully comprehend what was happening in his room until at least two full minutes had passed, I am going to declare this prank a totally unexpected, unstaged one—and a success.

More from The Stir: Jimmy Kimmel's Horrifying Valentine's Day Prank Turns Boxes of Chocolate Into Your Worst Nightmare (VIDEO)

You just know Kimmel isn't going to let this slide. I'm imagining it will be slightly more challenging for him to gain entry into Rihanna's home and bedroom, but it's only a matter of time before she gets payback.

What do you think about Rihanna's prank?

New Scary Apps Let Kids Live Stream All Their Foolish Antics

Post by Lisa Fogarty.

Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view.
We live in amazing times and with each innovative technological breakthrough, it becomes even easier to disseminate news and get information that was unaccessible to us 20 years ago. But new apps like Periscope and Meerkat, which let people share real-time video and broadcast it on the app and Twitter, are incredible tools for your average adult and many professionals—but a parent's worst nightmare.

So, here's how Meerkat and Periscope work: you download the app, create an account through Twitter, choose people from your Twitter list to follow, and then give the site permission to access your camera. A 5-year-old could probably set these up in less than three minutes. From that point on, what you choose to record and share with the universe is totally up to you.

Here's how these apps would be used in a perfect world (because I think I mentioned they are impressive): reporter finds himself in the middle of an impromptu protest and is able to share with his followers what is happening on the streets in real time. A mom wants her child's grandparents to experience her dance recital as her pirouette is happening—she can do just that with this app.

And there are countless other great examples we can probably all imagine.

Of course, kids aren't in the business of reporting from the front lines or (with few exceptions) sharing touching family moments with their extended relatives.

They're kids. They do now and think later. They film themselves eating Pop-Tarts. Fake fighting with friends. Actually fighting with "enemies." Making startling "confessions" on camera without thinking they'll regret them five minutes later.

And we don't have to touch upon all of the ways some kids might use these apps to experiment with their sexuality and sexual power. A lot of us went there mentally the second we read the words "live streaming."

Because kids are naturally impulsive and lack the ability to think far into the future, we've already seen examples of these apps being used in ways that would make most parents lose their minds. One video reportedly showed a girl sitting at a table. The person who posted it thought it might be funny to let everyone know, "She doesn't know that I'm filming her!"

Great.

More from The Stir: 5 Facebook Statuses That Got Teens in BIG Trouble

And then there's this REALLY young girl who likely didn't think twice before posting a vid of herself just being herself (which is, a really, really young girl, if I didn't make that clear enough). Because of her age, I don't feel comfortable sharing this screen shot of her posted by a Twitter user, but his reasons for doing so are the opposite of creepy: he includes some of the disgusting, horrific comments posted for her as she is live streaming her video.

Oh, did I forget to mention the best part? Strangers can leave comments and say whatever the hell they feel about our kids' videos.

Just to give you some idea of the comments this girl has received, here are a few:

"Can I smell you"

"Twerk dance please"

"Bony"

"When was ur last time u was f****d"

Since we can't stop the world and get off (gripping our kids' hands and dragging them with us), the next best thing we can do is stay aware of apps like these that make it more possible for our children to connect with strangers and share their lives in ways they might end up regretting.

We should discuss with our kids the impact these apps can have on them and outright place restrictions on them so that our young children can't access them.

Would you let your child use a live streaming app?

Mom and 10-Year-Old Son Face Deportation Because He Has Autism

Post by Lisa Fogarty.

World Autism Awareness Day hasn't simply opened our eyes to Autism Spectrum Disorders, it has also exposed many of the injustices faced by parents of children who suffer from the uncurable condition. One story is so atrocious it's hard to believe: a mother and her 10-year-old son may be deported from the only home he has ever known in Australia because the child's autism diagnosis is viewed as a burden upon society.

Maria Sevilla brought her son, Tyrone, to Australia from their native Philippines when he was 2 so that she could seek work as a skilled nurse. Despite living there for eight years and reportedly pulling her weight and proving a productive member of Australian society, the government denied Sevilla a skilled working visa in 2014 and, just recently, rejected her request again.

Sevilla says the government's reason for trying to deport her is that they fear her son will grow up and become a citizen and that his autism will be a "burden" to taxpayers.

If this is true, it's incredibly heartless and callous. This mom isn't sitting around asking for people to provide for her—she is doing what she can to make her child's life better and ensure he grows up and can take care of himself and put his talents and skills to good use. She reportedly pays taxes and has private health insurance. She's playing by the rules and doesn't deserve this.

More from The Stir: Mom Says She's Found Autism Cure: Would You Try It?

It's obviously horrific to imply any child is a "burden," but it's also a hard pill to swallow judging by the numbers. It can cost a family $50,000 a year to provide autism-related education and healthcare. Meanwhile, federal funding in the country reportedly provides about $12,000 per child per year, which is about enough to cover one hour of early intervention per week of the minimum of 20 hours that are recommended.

Sevilla is trying to overturn the goverment's decision and has created a Change.org petition that currently has more than 67,000 supporters. If the decision sticks, she and Tyrone could be deported in 28 days.

Do you think this mom and her son have the right to stay in Australia?

Police Officers Buy a Car Seat For Family Driving Without One Instead of Giving Them a Ticket

Post by Lisa Fogarty.

Police officers in Michigan had every opportunity to bust a family caught placing their 10-month-old on her mother's lap in the passenger's seat of the car while driving home from a McDonald's. This was obviously dangerous behavior and there are laws set up to protect children in cases like these. But, instead of ticketing them, the cops acted in the most humane, compassionate way possible: they bought them a car seat.

The incident took place in February, after a concerned McDonald's employee called police while witnessing the family about to drive off without a car seat. Responding Officers James Hodges and Jason Pavlige could have easily and justifiably issued the parents a citation. But, after hearing the family explain they didn't have money for a car seat and had just moved to town and didn't know anyone from whom they could borrow, they probably thought: how would a fine solve this problem?

So, while one officer waited with the family, another took a ride to Walmart and purchased a car seat for the parents. They even installed the seat in their car and showed them how to use it.

The sweet and kind gesture would have gone unnoticed, if not for a Walmart employee, who recently reported the cops' Good Samaritan deed to their police station.

When questioned about why they went to great lengths to help this family, they had the greatest response: they reminded us that this is why most people get into police work—to help others.

More from The Stir: Awesome Police Officers Answer the Call of Diaper Duty (VIDEO)

It's sad to think so many police stories we read about in the news are negative and highlight the actions of a few bad apples who abuse their power. In any profession, you're going to find employees (and employers!) who don't follow the rules and it's unfair to judge an entire group based on the foolish and even fatal ways certain officers have responded in situations.

But a story like this one reminds us that the job of a police officer should be to protect first, and punish and dole out consequences second. These guys certainly get it. Few people pursue paths with the intention of acting in a corrupt manner and I sincerely hope it's possible for us to get to a place in which officers are not automatically perceived as the enemy in many communities.

Are you surprised to hear about what these police officers did for this family?

Religious Group Says Women Who Have C-Sections Aren't Really Giving Birth

Post by Lisa Fogarty.

Are you sitting down for this one? A religious group called the Disciples of the New Dawn wants you to know that, as far as birthing methods go, C-sections are so inferior to natural births that women who have them aren't even really giving birth. And that scar left behind that makes you smile with pride? They call it a "guilt scar."

The religious group has been posting absolutely bats**t crazy messages on Facebook—just in time for Easter!—in which it lambasts women who have either opted for C-sections or allowed their doctors to give them one. They say women who have the procedure are taking the "lazy" way out and that women who give birth naturally are "superior" and deserve respect—though what I suppose they mean to say is that they deserve more respect that those who get C-sections:

Their exact words are:

Good advice from Matriarch Graber on behalf of The Circle of Matriarchs. They have delivered many babies over the years, NATURALLY and not once has needed a C-Section or pharmaceutical toxins. Pregnancy is a beautiful thing as it is the zenith of a woman's role in a moral Christian society. If God has decided to call you home, it is not up to you or a doctor to reject Him. You may find yourself cast into the lake of fire for doing so. God's Peace.

The group is so intent on shaming women who have had C-sections that it has posted other memes that are, understandably, infuriating moms everywhere:

I try not to get into battles I can't win with folks who believe a woman's only role in life is be barefoot and pregnant and that she should reject any and all medical advancements because she was made to suffer during childbirth. The way I see it, everyone is entitled to their beliefs, even if I think they're extreme, and, as long as my government isn't creating laws that are in line with those religious beliefs, they aren't going to affect my life.

But I draw the line when religious groups try to manipulate and control people by making up facts that can be disproved by medical experts.

This line just kills their argument for me: "There is no medical need for a cesarean section."

Seriously?! Tell a mom who has been in labor for hours and who is then told her baby has wrapped the umbilical cord around his neck and could die if she doesn't have a C-section that there is no medical need for one. Deliver that "fact" to a woman whose uterus has torn during labor, who experiences placental abruption, or whose baby refuses to turn from breech position.

Is it "God's will" to just let that baby and mother suffer? Isn't it just as likely that God created humans who have, over time, developed the amazing technology and know-how to free moms and their babies from pain and avoidable death?

More from The Stir: A Love Letter to C-Section Moms (That Everyone Should Read)

Whether a woman has had an emergency C-Section or an elective one, no one has the right to tell her she isn't a "good mother" because she didn't use a midwife or doula and give birth in her bedroom. Anytime we see someone—or a group of people—speak so harshly and authoritatively, in black and white terms, about a woman, her body, or what she chooses to do with it, it should raise a major flag for us.

The intention isn't to protect women, it's to control them for their own twisted purposes. Ladies, ignore this background noise and never let anyone make you feel like anything less than a warrior for giving birth in whatever way makes it possible for you to bring life into this world.

What do you think about these ads and the idea that a C-section isn't a real birth?

Little Girl Explains Why Kim Kardashian Should Not Be Her Dad's Crush (VIDEO)

A funny, straight-shooting young girl told her dad—and the entire world—exactly what she thinks of his celeb crush, Kim Kardashian. Let's just say daddy's little girl does not approve of his fantasy woman, for reasons that might make you feel better about the next generation.

You'll notice this child's dad looks a bit apprehensive as he confesses he is crushing on Kim, and when you hear the way his smart cookie reacted, you'll understand why—I would not want to get on this future attorney's bad side:

See this video on The Stir by CafeMom.

This little girl just summed up the feelings and thoughts of many women and men who can't make heads or tails out of Kim K's fame. She also makes it abundantly clear that she does not approve of Kim's plastic surgery and nudity, which is a relief for those of us who were worried that our young girls were going to grow up thinking it's totally okay and normal to show the world everything you've got.

More from The Stir: Little Girls Make F-Bomb Filled Video That Has Parents Cringing

It doesn't matter how many Kim K's the universe throws our way, if we continue to emphasize to our little girls that their minds are their most value asset, they will (we hope) grow up believing our message more than the one they get from celebrity culture.

What do you think about this little girl's message?

Jill Duggar Shows Off Baby Bump and Predicts She May Have an 'Easter Baby' (PHOTO)

Jill and Derick Dillard's baby must be very content where he is—because there's no sign of him just yet! After the 19 Kids and Counting star shared on Friday that she was planning on indulging in as much spicy Mexican food as she could to try and speed labor along, it seems nothing is working yet—and she posted a photo showing herself four days overdue.

I can't even imagine the 23-year-old's anxiety and frustration. At some point in the third trimester you hit a wall and go from feeling like you need more time to prepare to feeling as ready as you're ever going to be and just wanting to meet your little boy or girl.

After experiencing Braxton Hicks contractions that both Jill and Derick took for the real thing (there's nothing more annoying), Jill appears to be patiently waiting this out—I mean, what else can you do, right?

Still waiting to meet our little guy. 😃 Maybe we'll have an Easter baby! #jillmdillard #babydilly

More from The Stir: Derick Dillard Confirms Jill Duggar In in Labor

Just a few days ago, Jill and Derick were volunteering at a church and the mom-to-be has been using this time she has before "Baby Dilly" makes his appearance to get some work done and hang out with her husband. Her little boy is taking the time he needs to be born healthy and strong and we're sure his birth will happen any day, minute, or hour now.

When do you think Jill and Derick's baby will be born?

Fox News Host Slams Kelly Clarkson for Her Weight

Post by Lisa Fogarty.

Here we go again. Because he is a perfect specimen of a man, Fox News host Chris Wallace decided it was his duty to slam Kelly Clarkson for her weight gain in a vicious, humiliating way. Don't worry, he isn't getting away with it. Fellow Fox News host Greta Van Susteren has demanded that he apologize for being a total jerk.

While making a radio appearance Friday on The Mike Gallagher Show, Wallace, 67, and Gallagher, 54, confused the year for 1962 because the two deemed it totally appropriate to "joke" about Clarkson and rip the new mom to shreds because of her weight.

After ha ha-ing the term "fat shaming," Gallagher proceeded to do exactly that by referring to Clarkson in the following way: "Holy cow, did she blow up."

Wallace didn't respond at first and it seemed like he was going to be the gentleman that was needed when he said that Clarkson has a "lovely voice." But then, for whatever reason, he later added, "She could stay off the deep dish pizza for a little while."

For a man who has three daughters and is old enough to be Clarkson's dad, I would think he'd have more compassion and sense than that.

More from The Stir: Kelly Clarkson's Response to Mean Girl Tweet Calling Her 'Fat' Is Awesome

I've never listened to this radio program before, so I can't comment on it, but I find it difficult to believe, with so much going on in the world, that two grown men would have nothing else to talk about then Kelly Clarkson's body. It's truly disturbing to think these men have a platform and can use their voices and fame to share important information to their listeners, but this is what they choose to do with the privilege they've been given.

As I mentioned, Van Susteren did the right thing and came forward to write a blog post about this disgusting behavior, adding that her colleague owes Clarkson an apology.

Kelly has always taken the high road when it comes to comments about her weight, and I'm sure that just makes her even more of a target to bullies. As much as I admire her for not falling prey to their nonsense, at least once, I'd love to see her give everyone the finger. The woman has never done a thing to anyone—lay off of her already.

Do you think Chris Wallace should apologize or is it his right to talk about Clarkson's weight?

Lucille Ball Fans Want Ugly 'Monster' Statue of Her Torn Down (PHOTO)

Throughout the 1950s and '60s, Lucille Ball was a powerhouse comedic force to be reckoned with—and a major entertainment giant who co-owned a television production company at a time when women simply didn't do those things. It makes sense that folks in Jamestown, New York, would want to celebrate the most famous person ever born in their town with a statue. What doesn't make sense to many of them is why the statue that was erected looks like a hideous monster from one of their darkest nightmares.

Aside from being incredible talented, Ball was a very attractive woman who was known for her flame-red hair and dancer's legs. That's why residents in her hometown have created a petition—five years after it was erected—to get this frightening bronze statue of the actress torn down:

This statue is supposed to be Lucille Ball drinking Vitameatavegamin and not an evil, child-poisoning Miss Hathaway. pic.twitter.com/UpOwLivaZs

Oh goodness. I'm usually not quick to throw my two cents in when it comes to an artist's work because I'm incapable of drawing a straight line. And, I mean, it's an impressive work and took skill ... but I have to admit, I don't see the resemblance, if that was the intention (I'm trying here. Maybe it was meant to be a representation of some aspect of Ball's zany personality? Hmmm).

Anyway, I'll let folks on Twitter weigh in instead, because a lot of people had a whole lot to say about it:

@NicTheEditor How in the world…that looks nothing like her. That statue is a offense to Lucille Ball and Lucy fans all over the world. ð³

— JoshuaBolden.com (@JoshuaBolden) April 2, 2015

Many people saw an uncanny resemblance to another actor:

Beyonce Drops Secret Song and Video to Celebrate 7th Wedding Anniversary (VIDEO)

Post by Lisa Fogarty.

This should put the last nail in the coffin of any and all Beyonce/Jay Z breakup rumors (are those still going?). The couple is celebrating their seventh wedding anniversary this weekend in a very Beyonce way: she secretly released a brand new song call Die With You, along with an intimate home video/music video directed by Jay Z. Eh, but there is one catch.

So, first of all, it's pretty obvious who the 33-year-old is speaking about in her lyrics: "I don't have a reason to be if I can't be with you. I love so I can die with you." Bey and Jay Z have been through a alot these past few years, including infidelity rumors, crazy elevator fights involving Solange Knowles, and sharing the greatest accomplishment of both of their lives: becoming parents to cutie pie Blue Ivy.

But, unlike so many celebs, they stuck it out and didn't run and hire divorce attorneys the minute things got rough. The timing of the release of her new song is in no way coincidental: this is a couple who now values their relationship more than ever because of the challenges they've weathered and they want the entire world to know it.

But here's the catch: you can only find the full song and video on Tidal, Jay Z's subscription-based streaming service. Sorry guys, but it looks like more musicians, including Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, The White Stripes, and Kanye West are going to be releasing their music exclusively to this site and you can't really blame them for wanting to get paid for their artistic efforts.

As for Beyonce, she teased us with a 15-second clip of her new song on her official Facebook page. It sounds just as sweet and romantic as we imagined:
