Matthew McConaughey has come a long way since his breakout role in the 1993 film Dazed and Confused. He won both the Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Actor for his work in Dallas Buyers Club. He has been praised for his starring role in True Detective. Time magazine even honored him by calling him one of the 100 "most influential people in the world" in its April 2014 issue.
At 44, he's hot, married, a dad -- and just keeps getting better with age. And speaking of age ...
The fact that he has accomplished so much in recent years doesn't mean Matthew has forgotten how he got his start in show biz. The actor proved he has a great sense of humor AND is proud of his very first movie, which -- in part because of him -- became an instant cult classic, by wearing a super-funny T-shirt that would look totally obnoxious on any other guy.
Here's the glorious, gorgeous Matthew ... leaning on a bar inside what appears to be a swanky white tent ... looking every inch the urban cowboy and shooting the breeze without any effort... wearing a T-shirt that he, and he alone, should own:
Ah, David Wooderson's infamous line from Dazed and Confused: "I get older, they stay the sameage." You may recall, he was referring to high school girls -- including fellow Texan Renee Zellweger, who was such an unknown back then, her character didn't even have a name.
When the film was released, I distinctly remember crushing on Matthew harder than any of the younger male characters. I thought: He can't be that old, right? The fact that his lovely wife, Camila Alves, is the curly-haired brunette by his side in this photo ensures this T-shirt is cute and not creepy.
Now, if Leonardo DiCaprio wears it: totally different story.
What do you think of Matthew's T-shirt? Funny or creepy?
