Ariana Grande cannot win. The press is so determined to take a few silly, amateurish celeb moves she makes and create a narrative in which she comes across as Justin Bieber's evil twin sister.
Now, before you insist that no one can paint a totally false picture of you unless you provide at least some basis for it, I swear I agree. The "Break Free" singer needs to learn how to keep her frustrations to herself and not wish death upon her fans when she's having a bad day. I'll give you that.
She would also be wise to cool it with her reported demands on photoshoots and in interviews (although I don't get the big deal about her wanting to be shot only from her left side). And that rumor about how she insists on checking photographers' shots and forcing them to delete those she doesn't like? No, just no.
After her recent appearance on Saturday Night Live, sources say Grande went too far -- again. But her demands were reasonable for a rising star who needs to protect her privacy.
The latest claim against the 21-year-old pop star is that she ordered the employees at Out hotel in New York City to clear out the entire lobby of patrons before she agreed to step foot inside to prepare for and perform in front of 3,000 people at the venue.
A source complained that she and her mom and brother took up an entire unisex bathroom so that she could get ready, asked hotel staff to "get rid" of paparazzi who were lingering outside, and took over a large conference room to use as a dressing room.
I should mention her concert took place at 3:30 a.m. The last time I checked, most business executives weren't occupying conference rooms in the middle of the night, so I'm not sure why this was even an issue.

As for her taking over a bathroom and lobby for a few hours so that the hotel could make tons of money selling tickets to her performance (which she was gracious enough to do for free, by the way): big deal. Again, given the time of day this took place, was that one bathroom really in such high demand? And maybe the singer wanted to go about her business for 30 seconds before performances without dealing with every person on Earth trying to snap photos of her with their phones.
Let's give this girl, who is barely out of her teens, a break before we turn her into the nightmare so many of us want her to become.
Do you feel bad for Ariana or do you think she needs to cool it with her demands?
