On the very same day the Minnesota Vikings made the unbelievable mistake of allowing Adrian Peterson to be reinstated after he was charged with beating his 4-year-old child with a tree branch, it has been discovered that he may have beaten another one of his sons.
The star running back reportedly beat (though the word we're sure he'd use is "disciplined") another one of his children so badly, he left him with a scarred head, according to reports. The second child is also 4 and has a different mother, who cops say received a text in which he reportedly explained to her that, yes, he did hit their son.
KHOU 11 News reportedly got its hands on the texts, which allegedly looked like this:
Mother: "What happened to his head?"
Peterson: "Hit his head on the carseat."
Mother: "How did this happen, he got a whoopin in the car"
Peterson: "Yep"
Mother: "Why?"
Peterson: "I felt so bad. But he did it his self."
The text reportedly continues with Peterson saying he disciplined their son for cursing out a sibling. When asked what he hit him with, the NFL player apparently responded, "be still n take ya whopping, he would have saved the scare (scar). He's aight."
More from The Stir: Adrian Peterson Should Not Be Playing in the NFL During Child Abuse Allegation
After the first child abuse allegation came to light, Peterson released a statement in which he explained that he was just trying to discipline his child the way he was disciplined. He credited the harsh punishments he received as a kid for helping to keep him on the straight and narrow. He also revealed that he has been seeing a psychologist who has been teaching him about "alternative" discipline approaches.
For what it's worth, the NFL player's attorney said the latest allegations against him are false and are, in fact, over a year old.
The owners of the Vikings have justified their decision to reinstate Peterson by saying he deserves the right to a fair trial before they decide his fate with the NFL.
Do you think Peterson should be allowed to play football while two child abuse charges are brought up against him?
