Clik here to view.Joan Rivers was loved by a great many people -- including countless celebrities who consider her one of the most groundbreaking comedians of all time. It made us smile to learn that she was getting the funeral she'd always wanted -- one with craft services, paparazzi and publicists making a scene (okay, we can't confirm the "craft services" part).
Joan would be thrilled to know that her New York City funeral was as glam and glitzy as any Red Carpet event she attended -- and she's attended them all. The star was honored and remembered today at a funeral service at Temple Emanu-El and the details are even better than we imagined.
First, the celebs -- oh, the celebs. Joan may have offended some people along the way with her no-holds-barred humor, but she thrilled just as many and earned their eternal respect. The stars who attended her funeral included Kelly Osbourne, Giuliana and Bill Rancic, Rosie O'Donnell, Kristin Chenoweth, Sarah Jessica Parker, Barbara Walters, Rachael Ray, and Howard Stern.
Ordinary folk stood outside of the Temple and people passing by in taxis shouted out the windows, "We love Joan!"
And the entertainment. According to New York Post's Cindy Adams, there was a performance of show tunes by the Gay Men's choir, followed by songs sung by Audra McDonald and Debra Norville and what we're sure were extremely touching speeches by Joan's daughter Melissa and actor Hugh Jackman.
As mourners were leaving, a bagpipe player serenaded them with a rendition of Frank Sinatra's New York, New York.
Can you imagine a more fitting tribute to Joan?
She will surely be missed, but never forgotten.
