Britney Spears has had a charmed life in a lot of ways and a great many opportunities to continue her career -- years after some of her pop star peers moved on to other things. But she's never been lucky in love (ugh, Kevin Federline), and today the poor girl is hurting again.
After finding "the one," Brit had to break up with boyfriend David Lucado for a totally terrible reason: video has surfaced that apparently shows him making out with another girl in someone's living room earlier this month. The couple dated for over a year, and it seems like he got close to her two sons, so naturally, this is a horrible breakup for the singer. And she let us know by posting a super-sad video on her Instagram that makes it clear she is hurting.
In the video, Britney says, "Okay, if you're ever having a sh***y day, find someone with shoes with hearts on them" and then pans the camera over a friend's feet. The camera then jumps back to Britney, who sadly says, "Made my day." She looks like she's desperately trying to hold it all together, and we seriously hope she does.
She also posted on Twitter, pretty much right after this happened: "Ahhhh the single life!"
One of the reasons we love Britney is because, for better or worse, she's always been transparent about her emotions. Anyone else remember that heartbreaking interview with Diane Sawyer when she sobbed about splitting with Justin Timberlake? Tell me that wasn't difficult to watch.
Can't imagine how she felt finding out from her own dad that David's cheating video exists. And, to make matters worse, it's reportedly being shopped around, which means it's only a matter of time before it's all over the Internet and Brit will be forced to relive this over and over again.
The singer has been through a lot in her young life and seems stronger for it. Breaking up with a cheating fool isn't going to do her in, but boy does Britney deserve better.
