There's nothing like falling in love with someone who turns out to be perfect for you -- so perfect the person doesn't just share your astrological sign, you were actually born on the same day and year. Call it fate -- Melissa Etheridge married her fiance, writer and producer Linda Wallum, two days after the couple celebrated turning 53 together. The ceremony and celebration took place on Saturday evening at the San Ysidro Ranch, which is located at the foothills of the Santa Ynez mountains and sounds absolutely dreamy.
Melissa and her love of 3 years exchanged vows in the lily garden under an arbor of purple and red flowers. She wore a grey suit and Linda opted for a sparkly dress. The Come to My Window singer dropped a few hints on her Twitter account prior to the wedding to give guests a hint of what they could expect. She seemed super excited a few days ago when she announced to the world that she would be singing a brand new song that no one had ever heard at an "intimate gathering" this weekend.
As if that weren't the understatement of the year! Turns out Melissa serenaded Linda with a song written just for her. I don't know about you, but I can't think of anything more romantic.

Guests included Rosie O'Donnell, Chelsea Handler, and Whitney Cummings. This is Melissa's second marriage. In 2010, she divorced long-time love Tammy Lynn Michaels, with whom she shares 7-year-old twins Johnnie and Miller. She is also mom to 17-year-old daughter Bailey and 15-year-old son Beckett, from her previous partnership with director Julie Cypher.
Melissa has always seemed like an extremely passionate person who puts her heart and soul into her relationships and music. As a breast cancer survivor, she has been through hell and back and has still never seemed to lose faith in love and life. I've known many people who have had their hearts broken from relationships that didn't pan out and wound up giving up instead of forging ahead to keep looking for true love. Melissa is an inspiration and I wish her the best in her new life journey with Linda.
