The View's Sherri Shepherd needs to run, not walk, away from her failed marriage with Lamar Sally. Earlier this week, we were shocked to hear that Lamar wants full custody of their unborn son, who will enter the world in July and be given the name Lamar Sally, Jr. But, okay, we can understand why a dad-to-be who isn't getting along with his spouse might want to secure his relationship with his child before he's born and things get super complicated.
But the latest news about this couple is even crazier. It seems Lamar wanted to add an amendment to the prenup they signed in 2011 -- one that included a whole list of "rules" like: don't get fat. Oh, and the always-romantic demand that Sherri consider it a "joy to submit" to her "husband as a way to honor God."
Sherri, who appeared as a contestant on Season 14 of Dancing With The Stars, refused to sign the lengthy list of rules, and good for her because they are crazytown. But we have to question how she read this list of nutty and demeaning demands and didn't run for the hills ASAP. That's love, people. Or temporary insanity -- I'm not sure which.
Here's a brief rundown of Lamar's expectations. You can read the doc in its entirety here and, boy, is it a worthwhile beach read.
1. "I am happy to be a refuge for my spouse. I am content with what I have and am not obsessed with obtaining material possessions."
2. "It is my joy to submit to my husband as a way to honor God. I am intensely sexual. God created me as a sexual being, and I am committed to being intimate with my husband."
3. "I strive to maintain a healthy body weight and exercise at least 3 times a week."
4. "I enjoy my husband's company more than anyone else's."
Seems totally reasonable, right?! I'm going to guess Lamar considered it a privilege for Sherri to be in his company and required no list of similar rules to keep him under control -- and skinny, which is the single most important thing in a union (I promise I'm being sarcastic). This is one marriage that needs to be over with -- and the sooner, the better.
What would you do if your husband asked you to agree to a list of "rules" like these?
