Love her or hate her, fitness guru Jillian Michaels has a lot to say about Fifty Shades of Grey — or, I should say, a lot of negative, hilarious things to say about the BDSM flick.
In a clip from the series premiere of her new show Just Jillian, the newest reality TV star and her hairstylist Chloe sit around discussing new hairstyles and books. At one point, we learn that Chloe read all three books in the Fifty Shades trilogy while they were on tour. Chloe's take? "So good." Jillian had a slightly different opinion about EL James's best-selling books.
"I tried to read those and they were literally unintelligible," Jillian said. "The only reason that these women think that this movie is sexy is because the guy is a billionaire. Because if the guy lived in a trailer park it would be a f--king CSI episode."

I am going to have to agree with Jillian on this point! A man with money can get away with ludicrous behavior in fictional tales — and it helps an awful lot when that man looks like Jamie Dornan. Christian Grey is a character who stalks Anastasia Steele, grows psychotic when she so much as interacts with another man, and even warns her against sharing what they do in the bedroom with another living soul.
I wouldn't go as far as saying Fifty Shades glorifies abusive relationships, because Anastasia's willingness to partake in their intimate moments prevents me from fully believing it, but a great number of people have made compelling cases for why they feel Ana is a victim.
More than anything, I think Jillian's funny comment sheds light on the reality of Fifty Shades's protagonist: his assets, helicopter, and well-cut suits allow women to overlook the reality of his dark personality and beyond-strange actions.
