Some special people are getting chocolates and flowers for Valentine's Day, while others are being gifted with watches or even fine jewelry. Leave it to Prince William to get a new helicopter for Valentine's Day. But it's not what you think -- he'll use it for the good of others.
The 33-year-old royal, as we know, is a pilot with the East Anglian Air Ambulance, which travels around by helicopter in order to help paramedics save people around the areas of Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Bewdfordshire, and his hometown of Norfolk. William and his coworkers are set to receive a brand-spanking-new helicopter on February 13, which will become operational on V-Day. Their new aircraft is worth a pretty penny, too -- the charity will have to raise $2.3 million in extra funds this year in order to fund it, though it seems like luck is on their side because William is their secret donation-raising weapon.
Will has been working with the organization since this summer and earns a small salary that he donates to charity, though not back to the East Anglian charity. Still, his very presence as a valuable member of their team shines a bright spotlight on their efforts and will certainly help them raise the money they need to stay ahead of the game.

Thanks to this new helicopter gift, which is called the H145 and will be bigger with more cabin space than other aircraft, their operation in Norfolk will be up to par with the one in Cambridge. William, who has settled down at Anmer House with Kate Middleton, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte, definitely has a stake in Norfolk and we're sure he's thrilled at this new gift (even though he generally works out of Cambridge), which will provide greater response time, while also relieving pilots and crew from the "cramped situation" they currently face.
You have to admit: A helicopter is a far more functional gift than a new Rolex. Not bad!
