It can be difficult to keep love alive when you have two small children at home and are constantly in the public eye. But Kate Middleton and Prince William are determined to rekindle their romance and have reportedly asked Queen Elizabeth to help — by granting them more date nights.

If this rumor is true, I guess it's proof that the Queen ultimately controls every move made within her family. After experiencing a bit of reported turmoil in their marriage — gossip that was fueled by the fact that Kate and Will didn't attend events together for several months — the royal couple have been making a concerted effort to spend more time together without Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Understandably, given their royal duties, this hasn't been easy. When they returned from a work trip to St. Andrews together last month, they decided to turn to the Queen for help. Thankfully Queen E is a romantic at heart, because she apparently approved their request to have more date nights together, and Kate and Will immediately got to work and booked a trip to Mustique later this month.

Why on earth would Will's grandmother need to give them the green light to enjoy their marriage? The media portrays Elizabeth as a merciless boss, but seems to forget she loves William and, I'm sure, wants only the best for him, Kate, and their family. Perhaps the duke and duchess explained to her, out of courtesy, that they plan on skipping out on an event or two so they can vacation together, but I seriously doubt they needed her permission to act like a husband and wife.

With that said, I can't help but feel giddy at the thought of more Kate and Will alone time. All couples can use a few good date nights each month — that goes double for those who have two kids under 3 at home.
