We've been hawking Dakota Johnson's style for months now, and the Fifty Shades of Grey actress keeps delivering the goods. Dakota wore a bow-tie dress to the 2015 LACMA Art + Film gala event on Saturday in Los Angeles, and she looked dramatic, elegant, and totally hip.
The 26-year-old walked the blue carpet alongside stars like Chloe Sevigny and Ali Larter to support the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. The event was presented by Gucci, so naturally, Dakota showed up wearing a mustard/gold Gucci dress that featured a very large velvet bow at the neck:
It's an unusual look for a young actress, but that's one of the reasons why I like it so much on Dakota. She does sexy without any effort at all, especially when she's playing Anastasia Steele, so it's more fun to see her covered up, demure, and rocking a shade that most stars wouldn't touch with a 10-foot pole!

The color works with Dakota's skin tone and hair. Her dramatic blush and dark lip perfectly complement the deep scarlet bow, and her gown is long and flowing but still tailored enough to her body so that it looks sensual and not overbearing.
My guess is that this is a gown people will either really love or really hate on her — but that's a good thing. Dakota is taking interesting fashion risks and, for the most part, pulling them off. She isn't afraid of experimenting with her looks, which speaks volumes about her personality. I'm betting she'll show up to her next event decked out in a sequinned mini dress — just to keep everyone on their toes.
