Clik here to view. The royal couple put on such a united front while meeting up with the president of China and his wife this week that even their outfits called out to each other. Kate Middleton wore a stunning purple dress that matched Prince Wiliam's tie— and the pair looked modern and fashionable.
Kate never really gets it wrong, does she? She was even more on point than usual while meeting China's President Xi Jinping and his wife Madame Peng Liyuan at Lancaster House in London, with a pretty spiffy-looking William beside her. The 33-year-old duchess wore a Dolce & Gabbana dark purple lace cocktail dress that's actually selling on Net-A-Porter for £1,850 (about $2,857). With her brown hair down (and notorious bangs swept aside), she was the most elegant woman on the planet.

William's tie is obviously a nod to Kate's pretty dress (her clutch is great, as well), and their decision to match seems appropriate given the fact that the foursome were about to attend the "Creative Collaborations" exhibition to celebrate cultural ties between the United Kingdom and China.

Kate and Will were no doubt a bit tired after spending the night at a state banquet thrown at Buckingham Palace in Xi and Peng's honor. Even though it was Kate's very first state banquet and this is her first time hosting the important officials, she looks calm, cool, and collected.
As for their choice to wear purple on the outing, the royal color is said to be a symbol of dignity. Interestingly, it is also associated with spiritual awareness, strength, and luck in China. As usual, Kate hit it out of the park — and Will doesn't look so bad himself!
