Since she gave him her final rose on the The Bachelorette, everyone has been demanding more info about Kaitlyn Bristowe and Shawn Booth's relationship, including whether they're the real deal or just playing it up for the cameras. The couple have come clean about their union by recently admitting that it isn't all roses and champagne.
Bristowe and Booth are engaged to be married and, despite claims that they broke up long ago and are only pretending to be together for the sake of some contract they maybe signed with the TV show, Kaitlyn recently wrote a blog post in which she professes her love for Booth, but reveals their relationship isn't perfect.
Her post is entitled, "What I Love About Shawn" (Awwww). Here are some of the lovely things she has to say about the personal trainer and why he makes her swoon.
I believe that Shawn is the person I am supposed to be with — it’s soul mates, true love, 'only-see-it-in-the-movies' type of stuff. It wasn’t an accident that my best friend made me go on that show, it’s not an accident that Chris Soules didn’t see me as his wife, and it wasn’t an accident that Shawn’s sister saw him with someone like me and told him to risk it. I truly believe we were meant to meet, and be together forever.
Sweet! Now, given how they've only been together a short while, you might think Bristowe and Shawn should be basking in that glorious new-relationship glow, that mystical place where nothing goes wrong. But she reveals they are far more realistic about their love:
I don’t want to make our relationship seem perfect, because it’s not, and imperfections are important to acknowledge because that’s what makes us normal! Sometimes I get mad at him for being on his phone, sometimes we disagree on things. And that’s ok. Because we know we will get through anything and learn about each other along the way. And at the end of the day, we aren’t characters on a tv show. We are real people.

I'm still on the fence about whether I believe their relationship is for keeps. On the one hand, you could say if Kaitlyn is already complaining about an aspect of their relationship, things don't look hopeful. She gets mad at him just for being on his phone? Does she mean to say, for being on his phone and speaking with other women? Because who gets mad at their partner for being on the phone with friends, family, or business aquaintances? It's a questionable statement.
On the other hand, reading Kaitlyn's blog post and learning that they aren't in fairy land and are willing to work past their differences in order to make their relationship stronger could also mean they are mature enough to realize this is going to take hard work. As long as they're both willing to put in the work, they may stand the test of time.
