Clik here to view. There's nothing like a doting grandparent who wants to spoil his or her grandchild. Prince Charles gave Prince George the best second birthday gift in the world -- one that will ensure he sees as much of his grandson as possible.
Little George was, no doubt, the recipient of a million amazing toys, books, and designer outfits when the tot celebrated his second birthday on July 22. But the coolest gift of all came from grandpa, who reportedly transformed a section of his garden at the Highgrove House in Gloucestershire that he shares with Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, into the playground of every child's dreams.
This new playground features a £22,000 hand-made hut that includes a bed and wood burner and an updated tree house that used to belong to Prince William and Prince Harry. The message behind the gift is a great deal more significant than the actual playground equipment he had installed: The message Charles is trying to get across is that his house is George and Charlotte's home, as well, and that he would like them to spend as much time as possible there.
More from The Stir: Kate Middleton & Prince Charles Rumored to Be Fighting Over Prince George
During the last few months, we've heard several rumors we sincerely hope are false about an ongoing feud supposedly taking place between Kate Middleton and her father-in-law. The two are reportedly at odds because Charles believes Kate's mom and dad see her children far more than he does -- and he wants to be a bigger presence in their lives.
If true, Charles's sweet gift is a really nice gesture on his part -- one that proves he is so committed to bonding with his grandkids that he is willing to turn a part of his (huge) home into a child's fantasy land. I hope he gets to spend as much time with them as possible.
