Clik here to view.Fifty Shades Darker is proving to be one of the most mysterious movie sequels of all time, and with just a few months to go until shooting is slated to begin, no one can make heads or tails over who is actually starring in or directing the film. Sorry to add to the confusion, but ... British actor Henry Cavill has just revealed where he stands with Fifty Shades Darker and the news only complicates matters.
Cavill, who will play Superman alongside Ben Affleck's Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, has been having a bit of fun at the expense of Fifty Shades fans everywhere because the 32-year-old hasn't exactly dispelled the rumor that he is going to play Anastasia Steele's boss Jack Hyde, who hires her to work at his publishing company and then tries to seduce her.
While in London working a press junket for Man From U.N.C.L.E., Cavill was asked about Fifty Shades Darker and made everyone giddy with joy by replying, "Basically what I can say is I can't say anything about it right now." This reply is more or less code for, "Yep, I'm in the film, but my agent is still ironing out the details of my enormous salary."
But not so fast. It seems Cavill was just kidding, you guys. The actor must have realized he had gone too far because he finally set the record straight with USA Today, saying: "I'm not in Fifty Shades of Grey. I'm for real. I'm just messing with everyone."

Cavill went on to explain himself and why he decided to throw the wool over everyone's eyes:
The first time around, everyone was asking, 'Are you Christian Grey?' I went 'No!' But no one cared and everyone kept talking about it. This time around, everyone is now still convinced I'm part of the series. Now the question is, 'Are you going to be in Fifty Shades Darker.' And I thought, I'm going to try a different tact this time. See what they say. And so I tried a different tact. I thought I'd give everyone a go and then tell everyone the truth a moment later. It's not going to change. I'm going to do something like this again in the future and make a real social experience out of it.
Well played, Cavill. You truly had us all fooled. And now if you'll excuse us, we're going to go and cry into our coffee cups and wonder if anyone will come close to making as great a Jack Hyde as you. Sniff, sniff.
