We're going to have to wait a long time before we get to see Christian Grey and Jack Hyde vie for the affections of Anastasia Steele -- the sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey isn't slated for release until February 10, 2017, which is a lifetime away. But Eloise Mumford teased fans with details about Fifty Shades Darker in a new interview with Glamour magazine, and we'll take what we can get!
The 28-year-old actress is reprising her role as Anastasia's roommate, Kate Kavanagh, in the movie's sequel. Like the rest of the cast, including Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, she knows she can't spill too many secrets about the second film in the trilogy, but she was kind enough to call the cast and crew a "wonderful family" and said they had a "bonding experience" shooting the first movie.
Mumford revealed that we should expect her character's relationship with best friend Ana to change going forward:
In the second film she finds out the exact nature of Ana and Christian's relationship, and that's a huge moment for her and for her friends ... obviously, Kate is a very protective friend and a very passionate and fiery person.

A lot of fans are probably wondering what it's like for the cast to work with a brand-new director after Sam Taylor-Johnson jumped ship. The director and writer EL James reportedly clashed several times while making Fifty Shades of Grey and had creative differences with regard to how the characters' stories should be told. There's no word yet on who will replace Taylor-Johnson. Meanwhile, Mumford wisely gives a diplomatic response:
It's going to be really hard not to have her there but we are always looking forward ... [but] it will be big shoes to fill.
And there you have it: so few details, but at the very least, confirmation that Kate will play an important role in Fifty Shades Darker. Now which of the film's actors will be the first to actually spill some juicy news?
