Teen Mom 2's Leah Calvert has enough going on in her life right now — the 23-year-old mom is currently in rehab battling depression and a reported addiction to painkillers. But when she returns to her West Virginia home, she isn't going to be able to simply relax and recuperate with her 5-year-old twins, Ali and Aleeah, and 2-year-old daughter Adalynn.
Instead, she'll be engaged in a brutal custody battle with estranged husband Jeremy Calvert, who just hired a well-known divorce attorney to handle his case.
Jeremy and Leah have been dealing with marital problems for some time now, so it comes as no shock that they are splitting up. What is odd: Calvert isn't playing around. The 27-year-old hired an attorney named Rusty Webb who is known for handling high-conflict divorce and custody battles. If his name sounds familiar, it may be because you've heard it before: Webb also represented Leah's ex-husband, Corey Simms!
More from The Stir: Leah Calvert Makes Shocking Revelation About Her Marriage to Jeremy
You have to wonder whether Calvert is purposely sticking the knife into his soon-to-be ex-wife's back by hiring Webb. Are he and Simms now buddies sharing divorce resources? The whole thing is just a bit odd, isn't it?
As for Leah, things aren't looking good for her while she's still in rehab. Both Calvert and Simms are reportedly trying to gain full custody of their children while she is working on improving her mental health — a move I feel we should praise, by the way, because taking any step to get help and improve your children's quality of life is a positive one. Both men have agreed to put their custody battles on hold while Leah is in rehab, which is at least a sign that things could end well here as long as everybody keeps their heads.
But I can't say I envy Leah after learning about what's in store for her when she returns home. I hope everyone will be as kind and gentle with her as possible.
What do you think about Leah's future custody battle?
