Clik here to view.Reports have been slowly trickling in about which former Full House cast mates are planning to appear on the reboot, Fuller House, and — for the most part — they've made us giddy. Candace Cameron Bure (D.J.), little sis Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie), and BFF Andrea Barber (Kimmy Gibbler) are the main players this time around, which we love. But it looks like they're going to have to make a lot of excuses for "baby" Michelle: because Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have confirmed they have no plans of reprising the role that made them household names.
Even after the rest of the world had heard about the Full House reboot, the twins claimed in late April they hadn't been told about the new show — something Uncle Jesse (sorry, I mean John Stamos) reportedly called them out on. Most of us knew from the start there was zero chance either of them would agree to play Michelle, but we needed to hear it from the horse's mouth.
Well, neigh, the horse has spoken. Executive Producer Robert L. Boyett released a statement that makes it crystal clear Mary-Kate and Ashley are not on board with a reboot:
Although Ashley and Mary-Kate will not be a part of Fuller House, I know how much Full House has meant to them and they are still very much considered family. It has been exciting to see how they have built their professional careers, and I support their choice to focus on their fashion brands and various business endeavors. I appreciate their support and good wishes towards Fuller House.
Was anyone, honestly, expecting different news?

The last time Mary-Kate appeared in a film was 2011. Ashley hasn't acted since 2010, and even then, she had a bit part in I'm Still Here. It's not as if the twins are too busy filming Hollywood blockbusters to reprise their roles (and if that were the case, that would be fine, too). Their passion is fashion now. It's been ages since they had any affiliation with Full House, so they shouldn't be slammed for not wishing to return to the set of a show they worked on when they were preschoolers.
Now that we're positive Michelle Tanner won't be played by Ashley or MK, my next question is: will casting directors go with a different actress? Or will Michelle forever be in Europe, finding herself?
Do you think Michelle should be replaced?
