FKA Twigs isn't your typical pop star and she's not comfortable with the exposure someone like Taylor Swift has come to expect in her daily life. If you need more proof of that, consider what she recently had to say about dating high-profile Robert Pattinson: that it can be downright awful.
FKA, 27, and Rob, 29, who are rumored to be engaged, have to constantly deal with photographers in their faces and people like me writing about their relationship and throwing out guesses about where they'll get married, when, and what FKA will wear. It has to be incredibly irritating, particularly for someone like the musical artist, who seems to value her privacy.
Here's what she had to say to the New York Times about dating a famous celebrity who has a great many devoted fans:
It's really hard — I can't begin to explain how awful it is. It makes you want to just stop everything sometimes. It makes you want to smash your face into the mirror.
FKA was also honest and candid about how difficult it is for her to read hateful racist comments from Pattinson's die-hard fans. It's insane to think, in this day and age, that young people are trashing the couple because they aren't both Caucasian, but jealousy makes people say and write crazy, ignorant, hateful things.

Lest we think FKA is about to break up with Pattinson because she can't handle the pressure, think again. This lady isn't about to let online haters ruin the good thing she's got: "I didn't see my life going this way at all. But it's worth it. I'm so happy."
Good for you, guys. Let love conquer hate.
